Founded in 1967 by Mr. Irving Lubin, Elran was the first Canadian company to specialize in reclining furniture. Today, this family business is managed by the second generation, Mr. Sheldon Lubin and Mr. Eric Abécassis. Until 1979, Elran manufactured only one type of product, the reclining chair. 1980 marked a very important year; Elran became the first company to introduce reclining loveseats and sofas on the market. Today, Elran is a leader in the industry and offers a complete range of reclining chairs, loveseats, sofas, and many other options.
The 235,000 sq. ft Elran production plant is located in Montreal. More than 475 employees work for the company. The plant is highly automated and efficient, thanks to a cellular manufacturing system and a just-in-time production system. Each step of the production process, from design to prototype testing, to final assembly, has a meticulous step-by-step verification system to maintain our rigorous quality control standards.
“We believe in offering consumers products of extremely high quality that meet their expectations and are tailor-made for today’s lifestyle”, says Elran president Sheldon Lubin. Elran designs comfortable, timeless products that reflect the very latest trends in comfort and lifestyle features. Constantly evolving at the leading edge of technological innovation, Elran continues to fine-tune its recliner mechanisms and offer a terrific range of flexible styles and collections. Motion furniture has changed a great deal over the years. Today, recliners fit right in with the way we define comfort – cocooning at home and relaxing in our very own home theatre.
