STOP KILLING PEOPLE! STOP FUNDING WAR!
Open Letter To All Canadian Politicians:
In the past two years our Canadian Government has sent $10,000,000,000 to Ukraine and apparently you’re ready to send $3,000,000,000 more!
Let’s remember what TEN BILLION looks like:
A few things you should be considering:
- That money belongs to Canadians and to Canada, not to you! You do not have our blanket consent to give as much money as you want to any other country, for any reason.
- The money sent so far has had zero scrutiny and zero accountability making it very suspicious that there are extreme levels of corruption involved here.
- The money has done absolutely nothing to prevent, diminish or end the war in Ukraine. It has done the exact opposite by perpetuating the war and ensuring the killing of tens of thousands of people in both countries.
This is NOT our war.
It wouldn’t even be happening if not for the promotion and support by governments like ours and the US. We don’t even know the validity of the claims on either side of this war yet we are blindly funding it with astronomical amounts of money that could actually have done some good in our country and other countries around the world. And let’s not pretend that Ukraine is totally innocent or that they are at all a Democracy which we claim to be defending.
Again, the massive funding is NOT serving the declared purpose. It is definitely enriching a few elites in Ukraine, the Military Industrial Complex, and perhaps a number of you in making the decision to send the money.
What you are doing is immoral and unethical at the very least and I would argue criminal as well. That obviously won’t be decided today but a day will come when there will be a reckoning and a judgement. Whether that is in a court of public opinion, a court of law, or whatever higher power you may believe will judge you, it will happen. You need to strongly consider what side of history you want to be on when that day comes.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t support our allies.
I’m saying we should not endlessly fund them. Especially when it is actually doing more harm than good for them, their enemies and most importantly, our own citizens who are starving and living in the streets. We can support our allies with peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts to a significant but reasonable degree as we always have. We do not need to buy the bullets to kill them or the yachts and properties for their leaders.
There are a few simple ways to gauge the righteousness of this funding that applies to politicians or anyone else supporting the futile and senseless funding of this war...
- If you haven’t completely given up at least half of your personal salary and most of your personal wealth to support this war, then you should not be donating Canada’s money to support it.
- If you aren’t willing to go to the country personally and stand on the front lines with the soldiers whose ultimate death you are funding, you shouldn’t be supporting the funding of those deaths.
- If you cannot account for every dollar of the Billions already sent, and prove with certainty that it did not contribute to the unnecessary deaths of tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians in both countries (ie did not contribute to killing), or that it did not largely go to the enrichment of the aforementioned groups, you should not be supporting sending any more money.
Please have a conscience! Take some responsibility, and show some leadership!
- Stop killing foreigners.
- Stop starving Canadians.
- Stop enriching the oligarchs, the Military Industrial Complex, and yourself if that applies.
- Make Canada a Peace Loving, Peacekeeping Nation again!
- Stop Funding War! When the funding stops, the killing stops.
Please let Canada know what you really stand for, by ending the funding of war.
Perhaps you’ll consider your choices before Canadians make theirs in the next election.
