About Us
Torrington Quick Signs and displays started in Grand Bend Ontario when the owner Robert (Bob) Torrington was a young entrepreneur who had moved to the beach with his young family. He left behind his job in Toronto as the manager of Ontario Trailers Ltd. A full size, RV and office trailer retailer in the 1960's.
Bob decided that he would like a small boutique business with few if any employees. Bob decided to make custom cedar signs for the local cottage and RV owners. It was a pleasant business where he got to know the customer and served them well , because they dealt with him personally. That was 1978.
Four years later Bob and family moved to London to be near the UWO , so that when the kids went to university they wouldn't need to pay rent. Family and public school were nearby also for when the kids were young. It was a natural progression to expand the sign business for the city location. So Bob invested in the first computerized sign making machine in North America. And the rest is history.
Now from premises in Hyde Park Ontario (West London) TQsigns.ca serves Southwestern Ontario with all kinds of signs and graphics. The second generation has joined the business and Bob still shows up regularly to help when needed. But as Bob says, it takes a computer savy generation to take this next leap into the internet business format, and Adrian (his son) is part of that generation.
So if you want you talk about old times see Bob otherwise Adrian is your man for large format graphics for vehicles, billboards, posters and business signs and displays. John is the guy to talk to about wayfinders, metal signs, cut vinyl letters and graphics or engraved signs for doors and directories. Both can help you with 3-D metal or plastic letters and logos or dozens of other types of signs and displays from our various suppliers and associates.
