MITTEN BASICS Pattern
Description
Mitten Basics designed by our very own Judy T. as part of London Yarns in-house design team for Dragonpine Designs, is a good, overall ‘bread & butter’ mitten pattern! It is a simple, basic mitten designed with beginners in mind, but suitable for all skill levels.
We start knitting in the round with a classic 2x2 ribbed cuff and work up the mitten to the elegantly tapered top shaping. And not to be missed is the main feature of these mittens - the contoured thumb gussets that fit the natural shape of our hands and makes them very comfortable to wear.
Knit in a worsted weight yarn, these mitts will work up quickly and be warm to wear. Pattern offers 3 finished adult sizes.
Choose to knit these mittens in a plain or heathered yarn, a self-patterning yarn or feel free to stripe them with a variety of colours…the choice is yours!
ADULT SIZES
Finished sizes: Small [Medium, Large]
100 grams Worsted Weight Yarn (#4)
3.00 mm Double Pointed Needles or a long circular needle for magic loop. Alternatively, the main part of the mitten can be knit using a 3.00 mm x 11” circular needle.
Pattern: DP-159 Mitten Basics is available in print or PDF from London Yarns.
