Where did March go?!? We are nearing its end and with it one last blast of ‘winter’…what’s the old expression for March…“in like a lamb, out like a lion”? Well, we’ve got some beautiful colours from Malabrigo, as well as a multitude of Bhedawool shades to share with you and brighten your day.
But first, a little bit of store business. We want to let you know of our store hours for this upcoming holiday weekend, they are...
- Friday, March 29/24 - Closed
- Saturday, March 30/24 - OPEN from 11 to 4pm
- Sunday & Monday – Closed as normal
- Tuesday, April 2/24 – back to regular store hours

We are looking to expand our team and are inviting those of you who are interested to apply starting today!
London Yarns is in need of individuals who want to join us and share in the love of any and all fibre arts. We are offering casual part time positions. Ideally, applicants would make themselves available and be flexible for occasional shifts during our store hours; Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday from 11- 4pm and Thursdays from 11- 6pm.
To apply, instead of a typical resume, we would rather receive a cover letter from you. In that letter, please state your strengths as they relate to our store. Please tell us about your experience, remembering that you do not have to be an expert in every facet of what we do here. Skills to mention would include knitting, crochet, felting, and machine knitting, among others.
Additional strengths to mention would be any experience you may have in customer service, computer skills, social media, organization, and teaching. Knowledge and experience with websites such as Ravelry would also be an asset. London Yarns is a learning environment, and we would be happy to train new hires in areas that they may have little to no experience in (as yet)!

Ultimate Sock takes Malabrigo’s sock yarn and elevates it a level by adding 25% nylon to their superwash merino that everyone already knows and loves. Ultimate Sock is constructed with 4-plies and has a generous 420 yards in each 100 gram skein. It is perfect to knit or crochet some lovely socks, assuring that they will be wear resistant and durable at the same time.
Great for any and all fingering weight projects, especially socks and garments with a lot of friction.
As this yarn is hand-dyed, be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project since each bag is a different dye lot, and skeins may vary from bag to bag. Skeins may even vary one from the other within the same bag. If using more than one skein in a project, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball to ensure random colour distribution.
