NEEDLE SETS FEATURE & FREE PATTERN

Monday, January 29, 2024 – Needle Sets Feature & Free Pattern

LYKKE needles have fast become a favourite ‘go to’ needle for both staff and customers alike. The needles have many features and benefits (detailed below) that are beneficial to our hand and knitting styles. Perhaps you’ve noticed our growing selection of individual Lykke fixed circulars, Lykke DPN’s and Lykke Interchangeable tips? These are great wooden needles to work with and guaranteed for 5-years against defects!

DID YOU KNOW?
Lykke has recently expanded their line of needle sets to include light coloured tips (check out their Naturale sets!!) and even more tip & case colours! In fact, one of their newest sets is called just that…”Colour” – the needle tips are colour coded per size, making it so easy to match pairs and differentiate sizes, plus they are very pretty to look at too!

And just for fun, in today’s email we’ve included a free Fairisle hat pattern as well as a popular versatile cowl pattern that we can use to show case that one special skein of variegated yarn that we so love – we have many in the store to inspire you!

LYKKE needles are strong, silky smooth and lightweight, made from solid birch – no composite or laminate wood! The solid birch needles are resin infused to give them their unique appearance, but also to harden the wood – allows for tip integrity (no fraying or splintering).
  • LYKKE needles carry a 5-year guarantee against manufacturer defects giving you the peace of mind that you have invested in tools built to last!
  • LYKKE IC tips have both US and metric sizes etched on the end caps of the needles to ensure long-term readability.
  • The beautiful finish varies with the wood grain, yet the pairs match up.
  • The needle tips have just the right sharpness – not too pointy, not too blunt with a short taper that puts your hands closer to the action.
  • The patina finish has a warm, elegant appearance – aesthetically stunning!
  • The needle-to-cord joins are impeccably smooth which means knitting is near effortless.
  • The cables are likewise smooth and flexible.
  • The needle sets are highly customizable – tips & cords are also sold individually, as well as in sets across a wide range of standard sizes.
  • Each set is neatly and securely packaged in a beautiful high quality case, with your choice of colour.
LYKKE birch needles are made from solid birch wood that is sourced from the USA, manufactured in India, and assembled in Nepal.

PICTURES DON’T DO THIS PROJECT JUSTICE…!!

Guaranteed to blow your mind!

A generously sized, asymmetrical cowl worked on the bias with 3 different stitch patterns – a great way to show off a variegated colourway on a semi-solid background and add a bit of glam to your neck and shoulders.

The neckline is even engineered to taper a bit towards the neck to reduce the amount of bulk around the neck area but still fit easily over your head.

There are 2 options for finishing the cowl – it may be sewn together at the edges, or you can add buttons and after-thought buttonholes with a crochet hook when the piece is finished.

See this Video for the after-thought button tutorial, an overview of the construction, and tips on how to wear it by altering the buttoning.

One Size: approx 22” in circumference at the neck opening, 11” along the shorter edges of the cowl, and 23” along the deepest part of the cowl

Worsted Weight Yardages

Pattern: we can purchase this pattern on your behalf for approx. C$11.22 and have it delivered directly to your inbox (and Ravelry library, if you have one).

What new and exciting things are ‘in store’ [pun intended ;0] for us next week??? We will have to wait and see!
