Today we revisit a little known notion from The Knitting Barber, called TKB cords. These handy dandy little cords deserve a repeat performance in today’s email. As well, we have four sock yarn offerings and some Short Combo needles from ChiaoGoo. Please read on for full details.

Whether you need to put stitches on hold or want to be able to try on your work-in-progress as you go, you will love both the ease and convenience of The Knitting Barber (TKB) cords!
TKB Cords are a Knitters best friend! Use these colourful silicone cords instead of traditional stitch holders or waste yarn. Simply tuck the cord snuggly onto the needle tip (pointy tips work best) and transfer your stitches from the needle to the cord. When you need to put the stitches back onto the needle, simply reverse the process – YES!! It’s THAT easy!

How do they work?
Say goodbye to frustrating waste yarn and hello to these hollow silicone cables!
Firmly press the tip of the cord onto your needle (~1 cm) and gently slip your stitches onto the cable for holding, and vice versa for placing the stitches back on to the needles! (If placing sleeves or stitches on hold to pick up later, just tie the ends of the TKB cords together until you're ready to make those stitches live again.)
When your stitches are in place, then gently remove the cord from the needle by pushing it off with your fingertip or nail to break the seal (do not pull the cord off).
Once on the cord, allow your stitches to stretch around the added circumference to make trying on your garments a breeze. Can be used for sleeves, body, hat, etc.

These four newer sock yarns discretely arrived during a very busy season of deliveries. In case they escaped our notice, here they are again.
Two of them are unique blends of superwash MERINO wool with either cotton or bamboo and the other two are traditional wool blend sock yarns (one is Merino) with some fun self-patterning colourways. Be sure to check out the FREE sock pattern below.

NOTE: We have limited stock of each colour, so if you see one that you like, please ‘hop on it’, so as to avoid disappointment.
Universal Yarn FILLY is an ideal fingering weight yarn for warm-weather socks and accessories. Or if you have ‘hot feet’, this would make comfortable socks year ‘round. Its unique blend of fibres makes the yarn springy and lightweight - a true pleasure to work with. The palette is inspired by the springtime, and each self-shadowing colourway features an array of exciting hues.
