SWEATER WEATHER

Monday, September 18, 2023 – Sweater Weather

Hello folks! The weather is finally starting to cool down, which means it’s the perfect time to settle down with some warmer projects. This week we have some restocking info as well as some sweater patterns to get you all inspired for this fall season.

If any patterns below catch your eye, just click the pattern name to go to the Ravelry page. I would also recommend checking out other patterns by these creators, they have lots of good ones!

First, some restocking info! Click any of the links below to see what’s available.

HEIRLOOM QUILT CARDIGAN
By Katryn Seeburger

From the Creator: “Using a block construction, this design is intended to focus on color and pattern to lead to a timeless piece intended to be handed down.
Each block is a chance to try something new, to combine different colors, to start again.
My goal in creating and sharing this design is to lead you through a custom knitting discovery, to think intuitively about your knitting, and to challenge the knitting process through technique.”

The Heirloom Quilt Cardigan is made up of individual squares knit separately using stranded colour work. The squares are then seamed together and stitches are picked up for the sleeves and outside ribbing. You can easily add or remove squares to change the size of the piece. You can use as many or as few colours as you would like in any combination too! This project would be a great way to experiment with colour and a great use for yarn scraps!

Yardage: 2400 – 3600 yards

Size: Bust: 50” (70”) 78 3/4”

Needles: 3.5 mm (US 4), 4.0 mm (US 6), 4.5 (US 7)

Gauge: 20 stitches and 34 rows = 4 inches in Flat Colourwork

Yarn Recommendations:

Anthem DK
Cascade 220
Briggs & Little Regal

EVANESCENCE SWEATER
By Ksenia Naidyon

“Vertical stripes of different colors dissolve in each other as if diluted by the gentle fog, making Evanescence Sweater look ephemeral and cozy at the same time.”

The body of the sweater is knit sideways with a built in bottom hem, and the sides are joined with a three needle bind off. The creator used two strands of sport weight yarn held double to achieve a worsted weight. The pattern calls for five colours of yarn, but could use as many as you want, making it a great stash busting project!

Yardage: 1045 – 4005 yards

Sizes: A (B, C, D, E) (F, G, H, I, J)
Finished chest 35.5 (39, 42.5, 46, 49.5) (53, 56.5, 60, 63.5, 67) inches

Needles: 4.5 mm (US 7), 5.0 mm (US 8)

Gauge: 19 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch
