No matter what you celebrate, with only 5 months left until holiday season, it is time to get a head start and plan out your projects so that they will be completed and ready to gift and/or enjoy in good time. That also takes the stress off of you, the creator so you can relax and enjoy the holiday season as well. Call it "Winter in July", "Swinterfest", "Christmas in July", or whatever you like! Regardless, everyone here at the store is ready for an exciting week full of lots of fun, new projects, books and yarns, snowflakes, and the best part...........

We will have a good representation of each brand / style of needles available for you to personally ‘test drive’ during our event. Try for yourself and see the difference a needle can make; the material it is made from, the length of the needle tip, the sharpness or bluntness of the tip, and the shape of the needle all can make a big difference in how much you enjoy working with them & how much they can assist you with ease of knitting. Each has their own unique advantages. We will be there to answer any questions you may have.
You’ve no doubt heard about “Interchangeable (IC) Needle Kits”. Perhaps you even have a set of your own. Have you noticed how they are changing the way we knit & how we now look at “needles”.
There are many, many advantages to these kits – among some of them are: ease of knitting, a full range of needle sizes and cord lengths that are compact and portable for travelling, the variety of needle types and materials available enable us to match our needles to our projects and choice of yarns and to top it all off, they are much more economical than buying “traditional” needles, giving you a vast variety of needle sizes, lengths, holders, etc.

Next up we have two new additions to our Dragonpine Designs pattern series! One hand knit pattern and one for all of you machine knitters. Both patterns were designed by our awesome staff member, Judy!
Reversible, Lined Hat for Machine Knitters DP-157
This hat is completely reversible and double lined. It has decreases for the crown at each end with the centre portion knit in stockinette. It is seamed along one side to form a tube and then one crown is tucked up inside the opposite crown forming the double lining and all the ends are neatly and invisibly hidden inside. It is long enough in length to fold up at the brim to make a cuff when worn (= 4 layers thick for extra warmth!). You can make a solid colour hat, or a hat that reverses to a different colour or use multiple colours in stripes. Depending on your choice of size, this hat can be worn as a toque with a folded brim, a beanie, or as a slouchy hat!
Baby Dolls: Christmas Set BD-12

If you have been in the store in the past year you may be familiar with this next project. This is the Winter Wonderland CAL by Ana Morais Soares. Both Judy & Carol here at the shop have crocheted this beautiful heirloom throw. This blanket is a perfect family gift that will be cherished for years to come. The yarn of choice for this amazing throw is Berroco Vintage Knitting Worsted. We have been able to do a huge re-stocking on this yarn and have tons of skeins available for you to choose your own unique colourway or use the shades as Judy & Carol did. The many choices are yours to make!
This beautiful mosaic crochet contains 14 different stitch patterns and has a finished size of 102 cm x 140 cm (40.2” x 55”).
KITS:
Knitting is a lot of fun but sometimes the planning stages of the project can be more difficult than the knitting itself. It can be a nice change of pace to get a kit with exactly the amount and weight of yarn you require. That way you can spend the bulk of your time enjoying your knitting, with the peace of mind that you have what you need.
