The theme of today’s email “ALL Colours In Stock!!” is referring to our recent shipment from Sirdar Yarns. We’ve had a lovely restocking of our Sirdar & Hayfield brands of yarn, as described below.

Have you ever lost a ball band and wondered what thickness/gauge your yarn is? Or been given a special skein of yarn as a gift, but without any yarn info attached?
This handy, dandy little tool is an essential, ‘must-have’ for all knitters, crocheters and spinners! In fact, this tool is just as indispensable as a needle gauge!
Product Details:
- Made from domestic Cherry wood
- Size: 2½” x 2½” x 3/16”
- Comes with a ball chain to use as a FOB
- Handmade in Katrinkles studio in Providence, RI.
How to use:
Method 1 – lay a single strand of yarn into each etched grove to find the one that fits best to determine the thickness of your yarn. EASY PEASY!!
Method 2 – wrap your yarn around the tool (with very little tension) and within the inch-wide
cutout. When the cutout is full, count the number of wraps (or strands) of yarn within that area to determine the number of ‘wraps per inch’ (WPI), then match that number with the corresponding thickness labeled on the mini tool.
As you can see in the above photo, there are 9 “wraps” (or strands of yarn) within the one-inch cutout. And the number 9 is next to ‘worsted’, thus this yarn is a worsted weight yarn.
The back of each mini tool has our London Yarns logo nicely engraved on it, so that when your friends want this WPI / Yarn Weight Mini Tool, they’ll know where to come.
