What is meant by a KAL and a MAL and what’s the difference? Both are good questions!
A Knitalong (KAL) is where we all get together and knit something along with other Knitters. Whereas a Make Along (MAL) also includes our friends who Crochet. Both are about having the support & encouragement of community.
We hope you will join us for one or for both the KAL and the MAL.

Cast-On Day is Friday, June 30th
This light & breezy summer top is perfect for warm weather wear! Knit top-down, in the round.

Pace Yourself & Have Fun
The 4 Day Knitalong is NOT about knitting until your fingers fall off; it’s about knitting a sweater faster than you thought you could – whatever that might be for you. For those who like a challenge, you can try your hand at the speedy 4-10 day pace (based on your size), but how quickly you knit your Tee is completely up to you.
We’ll be celebrating and knitting throughout the month of July, so you can work at the pace that’s best for you. Some folks like to count their hours and calculate their total knitting time at the end, while others love to take their time and just aim for binding off by the end of July. The goal is to reach the finish line – however long it may take to get there. Set your goal, wind your yarn, grab a cool, citrus drink and join in the shared energy and enthusiasm of friends all around the globe.

How Do I Participate?

Do I Have to Knit it in 4 Days?
NO. The purpose of the Knitalong is to have fun, make some new friends and the real goal is to knit a sweater faster than you thought you could, whatever that might be. That’s it. Whether it takes you 4 days, 4 weeks or 4 months (hopefully not 4 years), the goal is to keep going and have loads of friends to cheer you on along the way. This Knitalong is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced, and you’re going to love the support, encouragement and friendship along the way.
