ALL ABOUT OUR YOUNG ONES

Monday, May 8, 2023 – All About Our Young Ones

It’s always fun to knit something small for our young ones! It’s a portable project that works up fairly quickly and the best part is the expression on the little ones faces as they receive a new toy, a new blanket or sweater. It’s even more rewarding to see them wearing or playing with something that you created especially for them with your own two hands! Thus, we are dedicating this email to the ‘little ones’ in our lives, whether it be for friends or family or to give as a gift.

Today’s email was inspired by two recently finished staff projects…two sweet little cardigans. Incidentally, both patterns offer a wide range of sizes from newborn up to 9 years! So the patterns are well worth purchasing, as they can be used over and over again as the child grows.

Added to these two cardigans, are two blanket patterns and some toys to knit…all for your project inspiration.

But before we get to the ‘baby things’, first a reminder.

Last week to pre-order!

May’s Colour of the Month

Ancient Arts Colour of the Month for MAY is now available for pre-ordering…it is a LIMITED EDITION colourway, which will put you in mind of sailing the stormy seas.

THE WRECK OF THE MARY ROSE Colourway

This LIMITED EDITION colour is now available for pre-order – we only get ONE chance to order this colour, so don’t miss out!
The 'Mary Rose", 1535
 Painting by B.R. Stone

“The inspiration for this month's colour comes from the above painting. Our colour of the month re-creates the stormy sky, the churning sea, the white flapping sails, and the wet, slippery wooden decks of the Mary Rose. You can almost imagine yourself on board, with the smell of the sea in your face!” – Ancient Arts Yarns

The Wreck of the Mary RoseColour of the Month (COTM) colourway is dyed on Ancient Arts Socknado base, in fingering weight (#1); made of 80% Superwash Fine Merino Wool and 20% Nylon with 350m/100g; $32.98 each.

To Pre-Order: call us at 519-474-0403 with your name and payment information and number of skeins needed. Pre-Ordering deadline is Saturday, May 13, 2023.

For ages 3 months to 8 years…

Adorable Motif Blanket Pattern…

Another amazing design by our very own Judy T. as part of our in-house design team for Dragonpine Designs. This pattern came about with inspiration from one of our customers, Tanya! Judy chose to design this cute, delightful blanket using a bulky weight yarn. It is a quick knit that will be used and adored for sure!

This blanket is knit entirely in one piece, and the size is easily adjustable by adding a bunny square to either the width, or length, or both! Keep in mind that if you adjust the size of the blanket, you will require more yarn to complete your project.

It is also possible to knit each bunny as a square and seam the squares together (crochet them together or sew them together), and you can change each colour of the square as you wish!

Finished Size: 36" wide x 30" long

Yardage: 500 mtrs of Bulky Weight Yarn (#6)

YARN OPTIONS:
5 balls Bernat Softee Chunky
2 balls Softee Chunky Tweeds
6-7 balls Wool Ease Thick ‘n Quick
