Are any of you experiencing the February Blues??? Seeing the sun sure helps! And in addition to that…today’s email is full of colour that will brighten your day!
We have two new sock yarn collections that have arrived with many fun colour choices; we have a restocking of addi crochet hooks with colour coded handles and a special limited edition majestic colourway from Ancient Arts.
And as the ‘cherry on top’, we have a special ‘Hello Note’ from Janet.
NEW SOCK YARNS…
Austermann Step is an original, award-winning sock yarn with the addition of washable aloe vera and jojoba oils – it is truly one of the softest sock yarns on the market, featuring a cashmere-like soft feel, without the cashmere price!
Austermann Step will soften your hands while knitting, and soften your feet when wearing. The Aloe Vera and Jojoba oil will last for approximately 40 machine washes.
And it is EXP certified – a very special rating of the highest quality. In contrast to normal anti-felting processes, the EXP process is chlorine-free (EXP uses non-toxic salts); EXP treatments save a great deal of water - up to 50%. In addition, EXP requires far fewer and much less harmful chemicals than other treatments.
One ball makes a pair of average adult socks. As socks are usually knit tighter, it is preferable to use a smaller needle than recommended on the ball band. Our favourite needle size for socks is 2.00 mm - 2.25 mm.

A Special Note from Janet...
Hello Everyone!
I just wanted to reach out and send my well wishes to all of you on this 13th day of February. With Valentine’s Day popping up tomorrow, I couldn’t think of a better week than this week to reach out to all of you, my wonderful customers and tell you how much I truly cherish all of you. I so appreciate your support, loyalty, friendship, and above all, your dedication to myself, my family, and the store as I continue to work with you from my new location in the north.
I was very touched when so many of you reached out to me personally when I announced that I had made this move back in September of last year. I have recorded every one of your email addresses from those of you who replied directly, and as promised I will be keeping in touch with you through the new article I will be writing called “Dragonpine Diaries”. If any of you would like to join this list, please do so by emailing the store at info@londonyarns.com and simply put “Attention: Janet” in the Subject Line. I would be thrilled to add you to the list.
Many of you have asked about more details of our new lifestyle and I am currently putting together some photos and an article to share with all of you. I realize that not all of you will wish to read this “diary” so to speak, so it will be offered within occasional weekly emails as a link where you can click or tap on it to read more and stay in touch.
I know I say this all of the time, but I simply cannot believe how fast the time is flying by! I have had so many plans of things that I want to do both personally, at the store, and in my knitting, and it seems the days just disappear so quickly. I must say though that I am starting to get caught up and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (and it is not the train coming)! Ha Ha!
For those of you who have known me for a very long time, you will well remember that my husband Darrell and I LOVE winter. Well, we are here in our glory. The snow banks are so high that they tower above me and it is tricky to see past them to turn a corner or pull out of a driveway. My Mom, Katy Lou grew up in Nova Scotia, so winter is no stranger to her either; however she has had to get used to this true northern winter and the c-c-c-c-cold! As always though, she is such a good sport. We are moving forward together with great anticipation seeing what tomorrow will bring.
