THREE FUN KNITS
Monday, July 25, 2022 – Three Fun Knits
In this week’s email we are highlighting yarns that we have in stock and three projects to go with – 2 shawls and a scarf/wrap. In each project we give you the choice of a warmer option (wool or blend) and a cooler option (cotton or blend)…but feel free to choose BOTH!

FUN KNIT # 1...

The Details: This shawl is an asymmetrical triangle, worked side to side, with a meandering lacey design, broken up by simple reverse stockinette sections. Pattern is both written and fully charted, designed with the adventurous, mindful knitter in mind.
Yardage: 728 mtrs / 680 yds of Worsted weight (#4) yarn [or another weight – like Bamboo Pop Sock]

Gauge: 15 sts and 24 rows = 4” in stockinette, as written
Needles: 5.50 mm x 100 cm (US 9 x 40”) circular, as written

FUN KNIT # 2...
The High Chaparral Shawl is worked in components building on each other: one center lace panel, one triangle each on the left and right top sides of the panel, attached “as you go”.
Lastly, the bottom band is worked from left and right edges of the lace triangles and center square. Instructions for the center lace square and triangles are given as charts, bottom border is written out row by row.
Finished size: 22” deep x 49” wingspan
Yardage:
380 mtrs DK weight yarn (#3) for main colour
190 mtrs DK weight yarn (#3) for contrasting colour

FUN KNIT # 3...
The Prismarine scarf is worked on a bias in a simple slip stitch pattern. Repeats are short and easy to memorize. You can use self-striping, ombre, gradients, mini skeins, etc. Size is easy to adjust.
The pattern can be worked from the written instructions or the chart.
The samples are worked using one skein of self-striping yarn (shown in Urth Uneek Fingering) and one skein in a solid colour yarn, both are fingering weight (#1).

Cast-on edge: 14½”/36.5 cm
Width: 9½”/24 cm
Length: 75”/187 cm
Gauges:
23 sts and 44 rows = 4” in main pattern, blocked
24 sts and 50 rows= 4” in main pattern, unblocked
