Made with Universal Yarns Bamboo Pop - a silky, light and breezy, machine washable blend of 50/50 cotton and bamboo. The fibre blend gives the yarn a subtle sheen with beautiful stitch definition and comfortable drape.
 
SEACOAST COWL

Inspired by visions of the coast, this cowl nods to the flight of seabirds and fishing nets. Lightweight, smooth, and soft, Bamboo Pop is the perfect yarn for summertime – and the blue speckled shade featured in this cowl is yet another reminder of trips to the shore. The alternating stitch patterns are simply a joy to create.

The Shaved Ice summer top is made with 4 different colours of fingering weight yarn. You can colour block or fade or even make it in a single colour.
 
It is a cool summer top that has a bit of lace, a bit of texture and a pretty V neck.
 

You begin at the bottom and knit in the round until you reach the underarms, where you then knit back and forth. There are video links for the techniques you need for this top, so please don’t be intimidated.

A Note about Yarn choice – this pattern calls for a fingering weight yarn, but uses a DK weight needle size and stitch gauge. If you want your garment to have a lot of drape, then choose a fingering weight yarn, as suggested. But if you prefer your garment to hold its shape better, you may decide to choose a DK weight (#3) yarn instead.
 
Yarn Amounts:
2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5) skeins of Fingering weight (#1) yarn (with a min. 366 mtrs/400 yds/100g); divided accordingly. For largest size, 2 skeins of Colour D (the top colour) to match the sizes above.

“I have always liked models involving geometric shapes. I like the repetitive aspect of geometry that offers infinite creative possibilities! Since I have a weakness for the dolman style, I wanted to integrate the mitered square in a dolman pullover.

 

The front and the back are made from two mitered squares. Then, shoulders are sewn together and both sleeves are created by picking up stitches on each side of the square. The ¾ sleeves are shaped with short rows (back and forth rows may be added for extra width according to selected size) and ends with a ribbed cuff worked in the round. Hem and neckline ribbing are worked in the round as well by picking up stitches at the very end.“ - Louise Robert
