We have had many requests for some Lion Brand yarns, particularly the Wool Ease Thick & Quick that when the Sales Rep came and was able to show Janet some actual shade cards…guess what happened??? We now have some Lion Brand yarns in stock!! YAY!

Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Yarn is a super bulky (#6), wool blend yarn that works up fast! It has the feel, warmth and softness of wool with the easy care of acrylic – it’s machine washable.
Thick & Quick has fantastic stitch definition that makes cables and lacework really pop; available in a wide range of gorgeous colours – solids, heathers, tweeds, marls and glitter.
Perfect for extra warm blankets, sweaters, jackets, cowls, wraps, slippers, hats and scarves and quick gift ideas.
This has been a favorite yarn by many needle artists for a number of years, and it is a great choice for beginners too.

Project suggestion…
An easy knit, triangle shawl pattern that will compliment the yarn of your choice! Our Judy knit hers with just one ball of worsted weight (#4) Mandala Ombre. We have Judy’s shawl on display in the store for you viewing pleasure.
This pattern could easily be made with fingering (#1) to worsted weight (#4) yarns or anything in between. By simply adjusting your needle size and adding more (or fewer) repeats of the stockinette and garter ribbed eyelet sections, you can make a kerchief or a shawl as large or as small as you wish. Note that yardage requirements will vary with different yarn weights.

BYOB(ag) Reminder…
As Janet mentioned in a previous email, to better support the environment, the planet, and Earth Day on April 22nd, 2022, we here at London Yarns are going to eliminate as much plastic as we can and that includes our plastic shopping bags.
Once our current (limited) supply of plastic shopping bags is gone, they’re gone for good! We highly encourage you to BYOB (Bring Your Own BAG) when you come to the shop. We will have a small supply of paper bags available, both complimentary and a more deluxe version with handles (for a small fee) that you bring back with you and re-use the next time you shop with us.
Of course, we will always encourage you to keep some re-usable bags in your car and bring them in with you so that you will always have one at the ready for your next shopping spree here at the store!
And of course, as Makers, we can always MYOB (Make Your Own Bag)! To do this, we have two great NEW yarns in stock for just that purpose.

Macramé Twist & Colourbraid
May we present…Macramé Twist and Colourbraid from Estelle Yarns. These 3mm cord yarns are perfect for all sorts of projects – from rope rugs, to plant hangers, baskets and more. Also suitable for knitting and crochet, using 5.00-6.00mm needles for a variety of home dec projects and also fantastic for knit and crocheted market bags. This yarn is made of 100% recycled fibres, so great for the planet too.
With 80% cotton content, this yarn has a firm hand, but is not stiff. And the chainette structure contributes to a yarn that is lighter in weight than other yarns of similar thickness that are plied traditionally.
