Today’s theme ‘A Little Bit of Luxury’ well describes the two new ‘show & tell’ projects that we have to share with you. Luxury yarns are a real treat to work with, but may be cost prohibitive for larger projects. So today, we offer a 1-skein hat and a 2-skein cowl that may entice you to work with a scrumptious, luxury yarn that you may not otherwise treat yourself to.
And then, we also have two new DropShip projects to feature, as well. Pssst…’alpaca’!
First up…Cashmere!
Do you remember our recent shipment of new yarns called Eco Cashmere DK, Eco Cashmere Fingering and Baby Camel yarns from Nordic Yarn?
Well, we knit up the Sasa Hat and have it on display at the store for you to see just how lovely these yarns are. And the best part is that it’s just a 1-skein project – a ‘little taste of luxury’!
As a bonus for this week only, we are offering the pattern FREE of charge along with the purchase of Nordic Eco cashmere DK. Or, if you like the hat but prefer to knit it with a different DK weight (#3) yarn, then you may purchase either the printed pattern or electronic PDF for just $5.98 [not available through Ravelry].
Just look at that superb stitch definition!!
It’s a fun hat to knit with the varying stitch patterns; it keeps your interest! And, in no time, you’ve got a very luxurious, wearable hat!! Shown knit in Nordic Yarn Eco Cashmere DK (col. 80130 Baby Pink) and with an Estelle Faux Fur Pompom (col. 1242 Lilac).

If you’ve never yet had the chance to work with any of the Illimani yarns, we HIGHLY encourage you to do so! They are glorious!!! Not to mention ‘reasonably’ affordable for a luxury yarn. Beautiful to work with, a real treat for the fingers, and wonderful to wear!
Today we are featuring AMELIE by Illimani – Mulberry Silk + De-haired Baby Alpaca + Merino = Luxury.
AMELIE is one of the most luxurious, softest and lightest yarns you may ever experience! It is extremely light weight and has a beautiful texture that is the result of the combination of three fibres using a new technology. This high-tech yarn consists of a delicate spun tube of webbing made of pure silk that encases the blend of merino and the soft, de-haired baby alpaca fibres creating a thicker, yet delicate yarn without the added bulk or weight and it does not pill.
Anyway, our “Little Taste of Luxury Cowl” uses just two skeins of Illimani Amelie.

While you are in the store admiring Amelie’s buttery soft, ‘light as air’ texture and want a hat made in the same yarn, be sure to check out the 1-skein “Kiss My Pompoms” Hat on display and knit with Amelie.

Featuring Berroco Ultra Alpaca – a splendid blend of luxurious super fine alpaca and Peruvian Highland wool blended together and spun up perfectly round and light. Dyed in 65 splendid colourways! And there is also Berroco Ultra Alpaca NATURAL, made of the same blend, but offered in a small range of undyed, natural shades.
Striped modular knitting begins at the bottom point and works up in this triangular shawl. Once the length is reached, the right and left sides are worked separately out to their points, before finishing with a solid row at the top. The optional tri-coloured tassels complete this shawl with added detail.
