As Janet mentioned in last week’s email, September 30th marked the completion of 30 years in business for London Yarns under the ownership of Janet and her Mom, Katy Lou. She also made mention that the special events that we’ve been busy planning will start very soon…is starting TOMORROW soon enough?!? Let the F-U-N begin!!

WEEKLY GIVEAWAY!
To start of our 30th Anniversary celebrations, we will be holding a WEEKLY Giveaway Draw from now until December. There are lots of chances to win and LOTS of prizes to be won! We are soooo excited with the gifts & prizes that we have to offer you, as our suppliers have been very generous.
Here’s how to enter…
With every purchase made during the week, from Tuesday to Saturday, you will receive one Entry Ballot; it’s just that simple! Whether you make a purchase in person, over the phone, or by email, you will qualify to receive an entry ballot (limit of one regular ballot per person per day).
AND…if you purchase yarn for the featured project of the week (as advertised in our Monday email) you will receive an extra BONUS Ballot.
Each week the Giveaway Draw will be held at close of business on Saturday and the winner(s) will be notified by phone the following week.

Pssst---Your Slip is Showing!
Well, not really. But yes, the next Casapinka knit-along is a simple, fun and “mindless” KAL, where the yarn does all the work for you and your hands just knit the same stitches over and over again, giving you a nice, repetitive, tranquil project. The “Your Slip is Showing” KAL Shawl starts October 16, 2021. Will you be joining in?
Knitters will need up to four different colours of fingering weight yarn. The slip-stitch patterning lends itself well to speckles, tonals, or variegated colours, as well as fade sets.
Be as colourful or subdued as you wish in your choice of colours! This pattern is suitable for just about ANY colour combination that catches your eye. You could choose sharply contrasting colours, or subtle transitioning colours, or a two-toned colour scheme, or choose to knit it in one solid colour or one variegated colour…soooo many options and choices, you can’t go wrong!

To participate in the KAL, just join in when the Casapinka Ravelry group opens up the thread for it on October 15-16.
**Joining the KAL is optional; if you prefer to knit the pattern on your own that is A-OK, too! **
Pattern details…
*Colour choices: Though the pattern calls for 4 separate colours, you could choose just one solid colour, or one variegated colour, or two colours to use throughout. Just be sure to purchase the correct yardage for your choice of a 1, 2, 3 or 4 coloured shawl.
Yardage: 4 x 100 gram skeins of Fingering weight yarn (#1)
Approx. MINIMUM amounts for each colour:
- Colour A: 183 mtrs
- Colour B: 275 mtrs
- Colour C: 275 mtrs
- Colour D: 310 mtrs
Total Yardage: 1100 mtrs of Fingering weight yarn (#1)
YARN: Choose from ANY of our in-stock Fingering Weight and/or Sock Weight yarns or you can order any of Berroco’s Fingering Weight yarns from us using their DropShip program.
Pattern: We can purchase this pattern on your behalf for approx. $9.35 CDN and have it emailed directly to you.
Gauge: 26 stitches = 4” in slipped stitch pattern after blocking
Needles:
3.25 mm - 3.75 mm for border
3.50 mm - 4.00 mm for body
Notes for planning your shawl:
- There is a schematic included with the pattern. Download it and colour it in.
- Sections 1-5: ‘A’ is the prominent colour (the right tip of your shawl).
- Sections 6-10: ‘D’ is the prominent colour (seen when you wrap it around yourself).
- Sections 11 and 12: ‘C’ is the prominent colour.
- Once you are familiar with the pattern, refer to the table at the end for the colour orders.
