Greetings Everyone!
Before heading into this week’s email, I just wanted to reach out to all of you, our wonderful customers, to thank you for all of your kindness and support regarding our decision to close for staff vacations recently. So many of you made a point of contacting us and wishing us well for our “week off” that we were, in fact, quite overwhelmed by all of your encouraging words. Thank you all so very much. The vacation time was fabulous (Patti-Ann, Louise and Nancy are still enjoying a few more days), and we are all now ready to gear up for a super fall season. New arrivals will be coming in day after day..... Autumn, what an exciting time of year to be in a yarn shop! We can’t wait to share it with all of you.

This week we are featuring a ‘tried & true’ pattern book, a ‘must-have’ for every Knitters library!
The ‘Bundle of Joy’ Baby Blankets pattern book has been designed ‘in house’ by our very own Miss Cathy and is available in print at London Yarns.

In line with her style of pattern design, Cathy likes to give you, the knitter, options – many options. Cathy recognized that we have had many requests for simple, yet elegant patterns for baby blankets. She saw a need, got to work and has produced this exceptional book – an excellent, timeless reference book to have on hand in your knitting library!
If we wanted to adjust the finished sizes, Cathy has kindly included the needed information to do so. Thus, we could turn any of these stitch patterns into spa cloths, scarves, shawls, throws, or full size blankets!
Plus, these patterns are perfect for EVERY knitter, from beginner to experienced.

To help you decide which pattern to choose and what weight of yarn to knit with, Cathy has kindly knit up samples for you to see. She has knit each of the 6 pattern stitches in all 3 weights of yarn, including a full size blanket! Be sure to have a look at them the next time you’re in the shop.
Although we may choose from any (or all) of the three weights of yarn to make these “Bundle of Joy” Blankets – DK (#3), worsted (#4) and chunky (#5), we can’t help but think that based on the name of Berroco’s new yarn “VINTAGE BABY”, it would be a very good place to start.
Meet Berroco’s newest addition to their Vintage line…VINTAGE BABY. It’s their softest Vintage yet! It is made of the same blend as their regular Vintage (52% Acrylic, 40% Wool, 8% Nylon) but spun with 3-plies that make this yarn even softer! Three plies create a yarn that is nice and round, producing bounce, memory and beautiful stitch definition, as well as contributing softness to the texture.
Best of all, it comes in an extra-convenient 50 gram BALL, not a skein, so no winding needed!! This extra-soft DK weight yarn is machine washable and dryable - perfect for baby and adult clothes alike! Made in Peru.
