A quick FYI – the shop will be closed on Thursday, July 1st and will reopen again on Friday, July 2nd at noon for curbside pickup.
Today’s email is all about SILK. What used to be (and still is) considered a luxury fibre, silk is now more affordable and more accessible to all – including us. YAY!!
In this Monday email, we are featuring two DropShip yarns from Berroco – a pure silk yarn called Mantra and a silk blend called Summer Silk, along with some free patterns to arouse your interest in working with these two fabulous yarns. Summer Silk and Mantra are both DK weight (#3) yarns that are interchangeable…you can use either one for any of the patterns highlighted below.
Why silk? To quote Oscar de la Renta, “Silk does for the body what diamonds do for the hand.”

Charmion is a pretty feather & fan pullover with a sophisticatedly simple yoke; knit from the bottom-up with Berroco Summer Silk.
The feather & fan lace pattern is an easy four-row repeat; 3 of those rows are plain and only ONE row is patterned with k2tog’s and yo’s! Body shaping is achieved by changing needle sizes as you go for a smooth A-line shape. The sleeves are worked separately before joining the body in a circular, stocking stitch yoke.

This boatneck summer tee begins with the pretty yoke consisting of an easy little lace pattern and a slip stitch faux cable detail. The yoke panel is knit horizontally (from side to side) in one piece, dividing over neck opening and rejoining to complete the panel. The front and back body stitches are picked up along the side edges of the yoke panel, joined in the round at underarms and worked top down in one piece for an easy finish.
