WORSTED WEIGHT YARNS & PROJECTS
Monday, November 9/20 – Worsted Weight Yarns & Projects
This week we are doing things just a little bit differently…we are creating our own ‘DropShip’ projects, both big and small, all of which feature worsted weight yarns. We will mainly be featuring 8 worsted weight yarns from Berroco:
Lanas, Ultra Wool, Lett-Lopi, Ultra Alpaca, Vintage, Ultra Alpaca Natural, Remix and Comfort, plus a few others depending on the project.
And as for projects to knit with the above listed yarns, we’ve got a magnificent sampler stitch afghan, a Celtic Aran knit headband and poncho, and a colourful scarf and cowl to share with you.

SUPERBA PREMUIM 4-PLY – 17 colours now in stock! This is a relatively new yarn in our shop. It is a fingering weight sock yarn (75% Superwash Wool, 25% Nylon) in solid & heathered shades AND it comes in a 50 gram ball. This durable yet soft sock yarn is not only perfect for socks, including heels, toes and cuffs, but also for ANY fingering weight project like shawls, fingerless mitts, hats, scarves, doll clothes...the possibilities are endless! Made in Germany.
“Textures to Treasure” was inspired by a Patons Sampler Afghan pattern that has been out of print for many, many years. The beauty of “Textures to Treasure” is in the assembling – absolutely no sewing is required! All the squares are knit together and the borders are knit onto the throw, eliminating the daunting task of hand sewing it all together upon completion. This method of assembly also lends itself nicely to rearranging the placement of squares, creating an original layout, and the provisional techniques featured can also be used on any other throw where squares are knit separately and then need to be joined. Enjoy!
Textures to Treasure…

The 29-page ‘Textures to Treasure’ pattern book consists of 14 different stitch patterns, each square being knit three times, totaling 42 squares in all, to complete the full size throw; blocked to finished measurements of 48" x 56", with yardage given for a single colour, a two-colour and a four-colour throw, as suggestions. This pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner and up.
Of course, you don’t have to knit an exact copy. You could choose to knit a few of your favourite squares several times and fewer of others; or compose your throw of multiples of just a pattern or two. You could also decide to knit fewer squares to make a lap size throw, or knit more squares for a larger throw. Use as many or as few colours as you wish – the options are numerous!

If you're looking for a perfect autumn/winter garment to keep you warm and comfy this poncho is it!
The Eire poncho is knit in two rectangular pieces and seamed to form the shape. It is oversized and great for all body shapes and sizes. It uses a Worsted/Aran weight yarn and provides great warmth and comfort in the cooler weather.
Eire is reversible (front to back) and can be worn from all 4 sides! It can be knit in one colour, or two colours (as shown).
Yardage: 2000 – 2500* mtrs (2187 - 2734 yards) Worsted/Aran weight yarn, including fringe
[*The range in yardage is for the fringe or for an extra repeat of the pattern, creating the extra large option, therefore the extra yardage. If choosing not knit extra large size, then the leftover yarn from the extra yardage can be used for a thicker fringe.]
