BLANKETS GALORE & A KAL!
Monday, October 12/20 – Blankets Galore & a KAL!
It seems that it’s getting to be that time of year! The time of year that you reach for the comfort and warmth of a blanket to wrap around your shoulders or throw over your lap. It’s a wondrous thing how a blanket is like a HUG (especially a hand-made blanket, made with love in every stitch), it can comfort, soothe, console, calm, reassure, and ease the stresses of the day! And in this time of social distancing, wouldn’t it be wonderful to gift a HUG, in the form of a Blanket, to a loved one?
So, would you like to cast on a brand new Blanket project? Blankets are great to have on your needles. You can pick it up or put it down at anytime and you can knit smaller projects in between blanket sessions. And, the best part is, that blankets serve their functionality long before they are completed – they keep your lap warm while being knit!
But before we delve into today’s blanket offerings, here’s a quick update on some new stock that has arrived:

Did we say SWIVEL?!?! Yes, we did!! The newest addition to Knitters Pride is the Mindful Collection, including these BRAND NEW swivel smart interchangeable cords.
These teal coloured, nylon coated, stainless steel cords are strong, yet flexible and resilient, made with the finest grade materials. And they are memory free, so no annoying kinking to deal with. The cord's coating is silky smooth and comes in a soothing teal colour. They feature a long threaded screw-in “join” that insures the cord and needles stay connected for extra security.
The SWIVEL top cords are capable of turning 360 degrees for ease of use. The cords are marked at one-inch increments to make stitch counting and measuring convenient and simple. Best of all, the connection is snag-free with a no-twist glide and contains a hole for a cord key that can also be used for a lifeline.

Since we’re on the topic of Blankets, how would you like to have some camaraderie while knitting a blanket? We’ve got just the ticket! A brand new Knit-Along (KAL)!
Last week we featured a Crochet-Along, that you can still join. This week we’re sharing with you a fun, new Knit-Along (KAL) – a beautiful stitch sampler blanket, available in four sizes.
Casapinka is one of those beautiful people who shares lovingly and freely with the fibre world! She has teamed up with Berroco on one of her newest KAL designs, Glamping Blanket, creating some beautiful and fun colour combinations! Glamping (defined as “a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping.”) is likely to satisfy any of us seeking a little refuge in nature - without foregoing any of life's luxuries!
When Casapinka reached out to inquire about helping her with kits for her newest Glamping Blanket we here at Berroco said, “YES!!” We are proud to provide our LYS (Local Yarn Store) a way to use our Berroco DropShip program to get this yarn to you!
