How about this shawl…
A relatively easy knit, this shawl consists of three sections comprised of garter stitch, slip stitch and an 8-row lace section – the pattern gives both written and charted instructions for the lace section.
The pattern calls for a total of 800 mtrs of worsted weight yarn – 400 mtrs in a solid/heathered colour and 400 mtrs in a verigated or self-striping colourway (we used a total of 770 mtrs of DK weight yarn – 450 mtrs for MC & 320 mtrs for CC).
London Yarns Mods:
We chose to knit with Double Knitting (DK) weight yarn and changed our needle size down to 4.5mm, to match the yarn we selected and then followed the pattern as written.
Our DK weight 7th Inning Stretch Shawl (shown above) measures 115” wingspan x 33” deep when blocked.
The 3 side edges of our asymmetrical triangle measure 115” x 77” x 57” after blocking. This shawl is generously sized, easy to wrap up in and yet pleasantly lightweight – warmth without bulk, yeah!
