Monday, September 14, 2020 – A Special Treat!
In this week’s email, we have the privilege of sharing with you three BRAND NEW YARNS from Berroco! The three featured yarns, Artesia, Mochi and Tiramisu, are part of Berroco’s brand new Fall 2020 Yarn Collection! And, in support of Local Yarn Store (LYS) Appreciation Week, not only is Berroco offering these yarns as part of their DropShip program (this is unprecedented!), they have kitted up these yarns to include a FREE PATTERN with yarn purchase, as well as giving us a FREE shawl pattern as an instant download too!

But first, before we get into Berroco’s exciting new yarns, we are thrilled to share with you OUR new Edith Wrap shawl kits. These kits are now in-stock - but if we sell out, no worries! We can order more!
Introducing…
This beautiful scarf-shawl hybrid uses the Mosaic knitting technique which is a really fun and simple way of incorporating colourwork into your knitting. You only ever use one colour of yarn on a row and simply knit, purl or slip stitches as directed to create the colourwork effect, without carrying colours and no floats! The Edith Wrap is a great way to learn mosaic knitting, as each row is FULLY WRITTEN; no chart-reading required!
Short row shaping is used to create a slightly asymmetric shape to this rectangle wrap. And the wrap is nicely finished off with a Picot edging cast-off. The stitches are then picked up on each short end and finished off with a fun, sideways-knit border in garter stitch with zig-zag detailing.
Knit in a DK weight yarn (#3), it works up quickly and is comfortable to wear.
This wrap has an approximate finished measurement of 63” x 12” deep at centre.
Ultra Alpaca Light is the ideal balance of luxurious superfine alpaca and Peruvian Highland wool blended together and spun up perfectly round and light. There are 28 incredible shades including solids and heathers. Each shade is beautiful on its own or combined in endless possible colourwork combinations. Made in Peru.
Ultra Wool DK is our favourite ‘go to yarn’ for a machine washable, pure wool in a DK weight. Available in 40 glorious colours, including both solids and heathers, this yarn is ideal for colourwork projects and so much more! Made in Peru.

6 x 50 gram skeins of Ultra Alpaca Light (2 skeins in each of 3 colours), $65.88.

Pattern: to be purchased separately on Ravelry. If you do not already own it, we can purchase the pattern on your behalf for approx. $7 CDN with exchange (4 GBP). Please let us know at time of purchase if you require a pattern, and if you would like it emailed as a PDF or if you prefer a printed copy.
Needle: 4 mm x 80cm-100cm (US 6 x 32”- 40”) circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge (needle is NOT included in the kit).
If you prefer to pick your own shawl colours, both of these yarns are included in the DropShip program.

Berroco Tiramisu
A beautiful flow of colour with the soft halo of mohair is what makes Tiramisu a wonderful yarn to work with. It is a light worsted weight, spun from a scrumptious blend of wool, acrylic, mohair, and silk with colours that transition from brights to darks to create a stunning self-striping fabric. Made in Italy.

Create accessories and garments that are soft, fuzzy, and light with this unique hand dyed yarn. Use by itself or held together with another yarn, the choice is yours.

Lopi Blanket Characteristics:
Made in Iceland, Alafoss Lopi Interior Blankets are hand-woven with 100% pure Icelandic wool and are therefore extremely durable, lightweight, breathable and warm. The fabric is additionally combed after weaving to make it soft. The blankets come in various reversible patterns, colours and textures. Blanket sizes vary depending on the style, but average approximately 51” x 79” in size. (Please see individual styles for exact measurements.)
Cozy, warm and a very popular gift item! Twenty-seven different styles are now available with traditional Icelandic wool patterns. Due to the fine quality of the wool, the throws are very long-lasting but soft at the same time.
