Monday, September 7, 2020 – Playing with Colour
In today’s email we are ‘playing with colour’! Whether that means using a multi-coloured yarn all on its own or pairing it with a solid to knit Fairisle or Intarsia; either way it is going to be fun!

We are already familiar with Ultra Wool DK - our favourite ‘go to’ yarn for superwash wool. Ultra Wool DK is an excellent quality, machine washable, 100% Superwash Wool with a very generous 267 mtrs in every 100 gram BALL - not a skein; so NO need to have to wind it – it is all ready to go, as is!! Colour range includes both solids and heathers. This week we have another opportunity to take advantage of the DropShip offer and order ANY colour from Berroco’s shade card, in ANY amount we want.
A-N-D…we have a new yarn to play with this week, called PIXEL.
Berroco Pixel is a 100% Superwash Wool in a DK weight that is spun as a single ply and dyed in such a way so as to bring delight to any project we create. The ‘speckled’, ‘self-striping’ effect is created with tonal variations and highlight colours that create a textured look that’s full of subtle colour transitions; prefect for any project where you want a colourful yet understated look. Think scarves, shawls, cowls, wraps, ruanas (ponchos) or sweaters for the whole family, including baby and child patterns.
This week the Purga & Camila patterns (reg. $8 & $6 USD) are offered FREE with yarn purchase!
This is a fun sweater! Its yoke is knit in true Fairisle fashion, but in reverse! Normally, the solid colour would be the main colour, with variegated or multiple solid contrasting colours added into the yoke. Not so with Purga!! The main colour used in Purga is the multi-colour and the contrast colour added in the yoke is the solid colour – get it?!? Reverse Fairisle!

Calima Hat & Mittens
One shade of Berroco Pixel combines with one solid colour of Berroco Ultra Wool DK for a cheerful hat and mittens set. Just two balls of Berroco Ultra Wool DK and one skein of Berroco Pixel is enough to knit the whole set.
