RE-OPENING FOR CURBSIDE PICK-UP!
Monday, May 11/20 – RE-OPENING for Curbside Pick-Up!
Greetings to all of you, our loyal and wonderful customers!
As you all know, for almost 50 days now, London Yarns has been closed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. We have adhered very strictly to the rules and regulations laid out by our Ontario Government and Health Officials.
This past Wednesday, we were advised that after May 11th, our retail store qualified to re-open offering curbside pick-up only. We are going to do our best to offer this service to all of you. Our plan is to begin curbside operations as of 12 noon on Tuesday, May 12th, 2020.
We encourage all of you to support and work with us as we try to implement these new changes as to how our retail store will operate. Please keep in mind that this venture is “a work in progress” and we will be fine tuning our procedures and policies as each new day unfolds. We will do our best to keep our website and outgoing voicemail up to date to help you keep up with all current happenings here at the store.
Please take note of all the changes outlined below:
Our store hours are changing. We will be OPEN Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm. The store will be closed on Sunday & Monday.
We are unable to accept paper Gift Certificates. On-line Gift Certificates only please. Outstanding Paper Certificates will not expire or lose their value and will be re-instated when deemed safe to do so.
Obviously, there will be no “help” or mentoring, no workshops, and no knit groups offered at present.
Absolutely no exchanges or returns accepted at this time.
No access will be granted into the store and no personal contact whatsoever. The staff working in the store will be practising social distancing, sanitizing and strictly following the protocol set out for safety during this period.
Regulations for Curbside Pick-Up being offered:
Orders must be placed either by telephone (519-474-0403) or by email (info@londonyarns.com).
Once your order is compiled and completed by one of our staff, you will be contacted that it is ready. You will have the option of having it mailed to you via Canada Post if you live out of town, or, if you are in London, we are happy to offer the services of a local London Courier to drop it off to you. Should you choose to drive to the store and participate in curbside pick-up, please be sure to adhere to these regulations:
- Absolutely no cash will be accepted (there is currently no cash on the premises)
- We are unable to accept debit cards or provide the “tap” feature on your card
- We are unable to accept paper Gift Certificates currently. Only online Gift Certificates can be redeemed. You can purchase Gift Certificates over the phone or online.
- Orders must be paid in full by credit card PRIOR to arriving at the store. We are unable to take credit card numbers through the door and do not want anyone calling out their numbers in the parking lot for security reasons.
- Upon your arrival, the door will be unlocked, your parcel will be placed on the table directly outside the door and our door re-locked BEFORE you leave your vehicle.
- The “pick-up table”, the surfaces in the store, telephones, computers and all incoming deliveries will be cleaned and sanitized for everyone’s safety and protection.
Please remember everyone, we are all in this together and the number one priority is to keep everyone safe and healthy.
I can’t thank you enough for your co-operation and your loyalty and patronage throughout this very difficult time. Operating a small business during the early part of 2020 has certainly had its challenges. This will be a year for the history books, for sure!
Everyone, please keep taking care of yourselves and each other. Let’s hope for brighter days ahead very soon.

Website Yarn Listings Updated to include prices, colours & quantities.
In order to make ordering yarn by phone easier for you, we have added prices and in-stock colour numbers and quantities to all of our website yarn listings. Jen & Judy have been working hard to get this accomplished and ready for our Curbside Pick-Up re-opening on Tuesday.
After you click on the yarn that you are interested in to see the shade cards, you will find the price off to the right of the shade card and also located with the yarn details title. Here is an example:

Sherry knit her shawl with Zen Serenity Silk+
Lux Blanx in colour “High Seas”.
Serenity Silk+ is made of 75% superwash merino, 15% cashmere, and 10% silk with 500 yds / 100 gr. Sherry’s shawl took 150 grams (750 yds) and she chose not to add beads.

The Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust pattern is available as a Ravelry In-Store Download! Just ask at the counter and we would be happy to purchase the pattern on your behalf through Ravelry and have it emailed to you.
Here is a little more info about this shawl from the designers Ravelry page:
Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust is a crescent shaped shawl worked from the bottom up. The pattern is worked on both the wrong and right sides. Pattern includes charts and written directions. If you would like to add beads to your shawl, I include instructions on where to place the beads.
Yardage needed for S (M, L): 440 (540, 780) yard / 400 (495, 720) metres fingering weight yarn.

Please keep in mind that our virtual Gift Certificates from London Yarns are always available for purchase for yourself and/or your friends. The gift certificates do not expire and can be used to purchase anything in the store. This is a great way to support any small business that is temporarily closed under the current circumstances and it is also a lovely treat to let someone know that you are thinking of them and miss them.
