Notice: There will be no Tuesday Knit Group held tomorrow December 31st, as the store will be closing early at 3:00pm. The store will also be closed on Wednesday, January 1st, 2020 and reopen again on Thursday, getting back to regular business hours.
Fur, fur and more fur!
In today’s email we are highlighting some recently restocked Fun Fur yarns that are soft, fluffy and colourful in three different thickness and with some brand new colours, too! Here they are from finest to thickest:
FUNKY FUR
This furry, silky eyelash-effect yarn is perfect for knitting or crocheting wraps, scarves, cowls, hats, stuffies, and is a fun addition when used for trims & edgings. This yarn is ‘easy knit’ in that it is best knit only in stocking stitch or garter stitch. The fabric has no stitch definition when knitted, but instead creates a wonderful furry fabric.

Next, we have...
FAUX FUR is a pure synthetic, two-toned, silky soft, eyelash yarn with fine, featherlike fibres that spring from a central core strand to create a fluffy, faux fur effect with a gentle sheen.

Fibre Content: 90% Supersoft Nylon, 30% Polyester

And, look what you can make with Faux Fur...three Cowls, each one distinct, brought to you from our own Dragonpine Designs collection. Each cowl is knit from just one ball of Patons Alpaca Blend and one ball of Faux Fur yarn, giving them sophistication all their own.
The “HEPBURN COWL”
A fun, easy to memorize, one-row repeat forms the ‘Criss Cross’ pattern stitch (knit flat) and the fur trimmed neckline is knit in the round and extra cozy with the yarn being held double. The fabric has a lot of give to it, so those with narrower shoulders can wear it as a caplet too!
The “WHISPER OF FROST COWL”
This is an ‘easy-peasy’ Cowl to make! Knit completely in the round in garter and stockinette stitch, with no seams to sew when finished!
The “WOOLLY MAMMOTH COWL”
A fun, ‘tongue in cheek’ name, this Cowl can be worn, as shown, hugging the neckline, or it can be blocked to open up and create more drape around the neck.
Each of these three Cowls were knit using just one ball of Patons Alpaca Blend and one ball of the accent yarn, Faux Fur by James C. Brett.

Sirdar’s ‘Snood’/Cowl pattern takes 2 balls of Alpine (or one ball of Chinchilla – also in stock in select colours), is knit flat and seamed, using a pair of 10mm needles.

If you prefer to knit in the round, have a look at this cozy, cuddly cowl:

The Quick Faux Fur Cowl, a free pattern, is a cute, contemporary nod to gorgeous, vintage accessories. And worked in the round in simple stockinette stitch, it’s wonderfully quick and easy. Warm, furry, and cuddly, you’ll want to make as many as there are color options!
We knit this adorable cowl in Sirdar Alpine—a superbly soft and supremely pettable bulky-weight yarn. Akin to a fringed ribbon and crafted entirely in polyester, Alpine is also machine-washable—perfect for this retro-inspired faux fur cowl! – quoted from Churchmouse Yarns & Teas
Using just two balls of Alpine (or one ball of Chinchilla – also in stock in select colours) and 10mm x 40cm circular needles, this cowl will knit up in a flash!
