Season’s Greetings Everyone!
It’s Janet here ready to join with you as we countdown these last 9 days until the big day! It wouldn’t be Christmas without the last minute scramble to complete a couple more hand knit or crocheted gifts to place under the tree. I myself am no exception. I am still working on a few things I hope to present to loved ones over the holidays.
Patti-Ann has done another excellent job this week with the email. Please read on and take note of our upcoming holiday hours as well as the beautiful new yarns that will make your last minute holiday knitting quick and fun with stunning results.
I also wanted to remind all of you that the store is brimming with great gift ideas and stocking stuffers for the fibre artists on your list. NEW SHAWL KITS…
This is not an ordinary gradient yarn kit! The Paintbox kit from Biscotte Yarns, is made from two basic colours; one is fused to the other to provide 5 skeins of assorted colours. Each kit is made of hand-dyed Bis-Sock yarn (85% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon).

Catherine @zigzagstitches posted her completed “Falling Leaves” shawl, knit from just on cake of Magic Shawl yarn from Estelle. She modified the pattern slightly by knitting the grey sections in garter stitch rather than stocking stitch. It’s gorgeous!!
With Estelle’s new Magic Shawl yarn, one ball makes a beautiful shawl with interesting leaf motifs – no switching colours or weaving in ends required!
Each 200 gram ball of Magic Shawl features a unique colourway that automatically transitions to harmonize with Estelle’s “Falling Leaves” shawl pattern.

Blocking is an essential part of finishing a project – as you can tell from the above photos. See a project in action as well as learn to block swatches, textured fabric, and to deal with various fibres and blends. If you have never blocked your knits, come see what a difference it makes!
