A happy Monday to you all!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and are ready for a very exciting week! As I mentioned in my email last Wednesday, the weather man and Mother Nature have not been kind to us here lately and have tried to thwart our attempts at bringing you our "Beat the Blahs Sale Days". If the forecast is correct, this Tuesday and Wednesday are not supposed to be very nice either. Well, I am going to try and beat them at their own game!
This week, we are going to celebrate BOTH Valentine's Day AND Family Day in one extraordinary weekend Sale Event!
As you know, we absolutely LOVE our customers, so this Saturday and Sunday, February 16th & 17th, we are going to combine ALL of our Sale Events into one fabulous weekend of savings!
Everything in the store will be ON SALE on both Saturday from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
No matter what you are after, this weekend SSK Members will enjoy savings of 20% off of their purchases, and Non-Members will enjoy savings of 15% off! It's like a "Make Your Own Sale Weekend" so to speak.
You will also be able to test drive all of our needles and needle sets (full details of the needle sets can be read here in last Monday's email).
COME TAKE A TEST DRIVE FOR YOURSELF!
We will have a good representation of each brand / style of needles available for you to personally ‘test drive’ during our Sale Day. Try for yourself and see the difference a needle can make; the material it is made from, the length of the needle tip, the sharpness or bluntness of the tip, and the shape of the needle all can make a big difference in how much you enjoy working with them & how much they can assist you with ease of knitting. Each has their own unique advantages. We will be there to answer any questions you may have.
To help take the chill off, we will also be serving up Hot Chocolate (complete with marshmallows) and some goodies to help keep you energized!

The first clue was just launched this past Thursday and the second clue comes out this coming Thursday the 14th! Sign up now and receive the first clue immediately upon registration.
MKAL – ‘A Trio of Hats’
- 6 weeks
- 3 hats
- 3 different construction techniques
- 3 weights of yarn
Each hat has a different construction technique, a different style, and each hat in the trio uses a different weight of yarn. Mystery Hat “A” will consist of 3 clues, Mystery Hat “B” will consist of 2 clues, and finally, Mystery Hat “C” will be one single clue – a total of 6 clues, which will be sent out weekly by email, on Thursday’s, starting Feb. 7th. The complete printed patterns (included in the cost) will be purchased from Ravelry and sent to you by email at the end of the MKAL.
The MKAL registration fee of $90 includes: 6 weekly clues, all yarn needed to complete all 3 hats & 3 purchased Ravelry patterns.

“BAA-BLE” HAT

Are you new to colourwork knitting? Or do you want to practise & hone your Fairisle knitting skills? Then this hat is an ideal project for you! Students will be knitting in the round using circular and/or double pointed needles and will learn & practise colourwork knitting using the “Stranded Fairisle” knitting technique, along with chart reading and decreasing while keeping pattern correct, among others skills.
This was the official pattern for Shetland Wool Week 2015, an event held every year in Shetland to celebrate Shetland wool and its associated crafts. Knit in a worsted weight yarn at a fairly tight gauge, this is a warm and cosy hat, good for keeping your ears warm from the winter’s wind!
