EXCITING NEW YARNS

Monday, December 3/18 – Exciting New Yarns

Before we begin today’s email, here is a personal ‘Special Message from Janet’:

“Hello Everyone:

I would like to send out a very special ‘THANK YOU’ both to the wonderful women who work with me at the store and to all of you who attended this past weekend's Customer Appreciation/Grand Re-Opening Sale Event.  The event had been advertised, the alpacas were booked and ready to visit, the goodies were baked, and then the phone call came.....

My husband Darrell's and my Aunt, Huguette (pronounced "You-Get") lost her battle with cancer in North Bay.  This woman was not only our Aunt, she was our best friend and like a second Mom to us. Through the years, we enjoyed countless cottage visits together; we traveled cross country together, and attended every family function together.  We have made so many wonderful memories... too many to count.  She will be greatly missed by Darrell and I and the rest of our wonderful family.  We traveled north two weeks ago to say our final goodbyes and traveled to North Bay this past weekend to celebrate her life.

I am so sorry I wasn't there in person this past weekend to see all of you, but believe me, I was there in spirit.  I am so glad that so many of you were able to meet our alpaca friends Anna & Leo.  They were quite a hit!

I cannot begin to thank enough, the very special women who work with me at the store.  They rallied together and between them all, helped to make this past weekend's event a successful one.  We are a wonderful, "close knit" group here at the store (pun intended), and I am so very fortunate to have all of them work with me and be a part of my life.  Thank you all again.

Here are a couple of photos of my wonderful Aunt.  The one that touches my heart most is the one of the Canadian Beaver I knit for her a few years ago from Briggs & Little Wool complete with the Hudson's Bay Jacket.  The Beaver traveled home with us yesterday, and will become our little mascot now.
We love you Huggy!

Thanks again, to all of you, the wonderful customers of London Yarns,
- Janet

And, as well, a sincere ‘Thank You’ to Christine who brought us a special visit from Anna (left) and baby Leo (right).  How adorable are they?!?!?

Leo took a real interest in Jen’s needle felted poinsettia brooch.

We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we enjoyed seeing you!

And, now onto the news of the day....

NEW YARNS FROM JAMES C. BRETT!

We have received a new shipment from James C. Brett with quite a few ‘goodies’ in it, and we are happy to share them with you today.

First up.... CHINCHILLA

Chinchilla is a beautifully soft, luxurious, faux fur yarn!  Recreate the look of animal fur with the amazing James C Brett Chinchilla Yarn!  With a super soft finish, you can create cuddly stuffies, as well as add furry details to sweaters, cardigans, accessories and more!

The yarn produces a short, dense fur, without stitch detail, that looks real when knitted up. It will look smooth and soft, ready to be stroked by just about anyone who sees your gorgeous garments.

There are a range of 6 shades available in the collection, inspired by many of your favourite furry friends.

Feeling is believing!  This faux fur yarn is far superior to its
predecessors and so realistic; incredibly soft to touch, too!

Chinchilla comes with a FREE scarf pattern on the ball band that is knit up with 10mm needles, making it a quick and easy project to make in a night!

One ball will make a hat, 2 balls a scarf and 3 balls a wrap.

And, lastly...FAUX FUR is BACK IN STOCK and with new colours too:

And, look what you can make with Faux Fur yarn - three Cowls, each one distinct, brought to you from our own Dragonpine Designs collection.  Each cowl is knit from just one ball of Patons Alpaca Chunky and one ball of Faux Fur yarn, giving them a sophistication all their own.

The “HEPBURN COWL”
A fun, easy to memorize, one-row repeat forms the ‘Criss Cross’ pattern stitch (knit flat) and the fur trimmed neckline is knit in the round and extra cozy with the yarn being held double.  The fabric has a lot of give to it, so those with narrower shoulders can wear it as a caplet too!

The “WHISPER OF FROST COWL”

This is an ‘easy-peasy’ Cowl to make!  Knit completely in the round in garter and stockinette stitch, with no seams to sew when finished!

The “WOOLLY MAMMOTH COWL”
A fun, ‘tongue in cheek’ name, this Cowl can be worn, as shown, hugging the neckline, or it can be blocked to open up and create more drape around the neck.

Each of these three Cowls were knit using just one ball of Patons Alpaca Blend and one ball of the accent yarn, Faux Fur by James C. Brett and the finished cowls are available to view in the store.

A New Pattern for Machine Knitters...

SUMMER FLOWERS SCARF
on the LK150

Designed by Judy, this scarf is knit entirely on the LK150 using a fingering weight yarn.  The scarf pattern consists of 3 different stitch patterns – Leaves, Flowers & Border Section.  Hurry in to purchase your copy today!

Hope the rest of your day goes well,
Patti-Ann
