FALL KAL PONCHO, NEEDLE FELTING CLASS, AND NEW YARN!
OUR ROAD IS PAVED AND IS NOW OPEN!!! WOO HOO!
We are pleased to announce that the road in front of the store is paved, lines are painted, curbs poured, grass planted, and is OPEN FOR TRAFFIC! If you have not yet made it out to our new location, we would be pleased to see you again! :)
Just a reminder that we are having a new fall poncho KAL at the store! The pattern is called Match Play, and is designed by Michelle Hunter (of Building Blocks fame!). We have three yarn options for you to choose from for this beautiful KAL:
1. 8 balls of Ultra Wool DK, a machine washable 100% superwash wool from Berocco
2. 8 skeins of Vintage DK, a machine washable wool-acrylic-nylon blend from Berocco
3. 13 balls of Comfort DK, a machine washable acrylic-nylon blend from Berocco
Other materials required:
1. A 4mm x 80cm (32”) circular needle
2. A 4mm x 40cm (16”) circular needle
3. A 4.5mm x 40cm (16”) circular needle
4. Stitch markers
5. Stitch holders (or waste yarn in a contrasting colour and no thicker than a DK weight)
6. A 4mm crochet hook (optional; for the crochet cast on)
The poncho is one size, with finished dimensions of 35” wide (70” in circumference) around the bust/chest, and 23” from shoulder to bottom hem (length may be easily adjustable, but lengthening the poncho will require more yarn!).
KAL instructions will be released via email on Thursdays throughout October (the 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th). Need a little incentive to finish? With Michelle’s KALs, there is always a prize drawing at the end that is sponsored by Skacel (the distributor for addi, HiKoo, Schoppel-Wolle, and Skacel yarns and accessories). Finish your poncho by November 15th to be entered into the prize draw! In previous KALs, the prizes have been baskets of yarn, accessory kits, new products before they were released, and even sets of addi Click interchangeable needles (a $240 value!).

NEW CLASS ALERT!!!!
We are pleased to offer a brand new needle felting class with Jen! This class will feature a 2-dimensional felted poppy, and the kit (included in the price of the class, and also available for order separately) comes with everything you need to complete two poppies: a felting needle, a felting mat, red pure wool felting fibre, beads, 2 brooch clasps, beading thread, and a beading needle. During class, you will make and complete one poppy brooch, and then you can take the kit home with you and make the second one! Wear your poppy with pride as Remembrance Day is just around the corner!
Option 1: Saturday, September 29th, 2018 from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon
Option 2: Friday, October 5th, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm
Option 3: Friday, October 19th, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm
Option 4: Saturday, October 27th, 2018 from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon
Each class has a maximum of 8 participants, and if this class is anything like our previous felting workshops, they will fill up very quickly! Come on in to the store or give us a call to register to reserve your spot.
The best part about this kit? $1 of the proceeds of each kit will go towards services for Veterans in Canada. Carol, the owner of Infiknit in Toronto, our needle felting distributor, holds Veterans very near and dear to her heart: her father fought in World War II and turns 104 years old in October!
Please join us for any one of these felting classes, make a poppy to proudly wear for years to come and support a great cause, all at the same time!

We hope we have done Patti-Ann proud this week, as she is off on holiday enjoying nature to its fullest at a beautiful, lake front cabin. Jen and I GREATLY appreciate just how much work goes into each of her wonderful weekly emails! Patti-Ann, you are surely missed! Enjoy your vacation to the fullest!
