And on another tangent……
They say that living in London we have all of 2 seasons, winter and CONSTRUCTION!!! It seems that by residing in Hyde Park, it increases the construction season for us exponentially. Imagine our shock and surprise when we discovered that the road in front of us is being ripped up for summer infrastructure construction! Here we have been advertising and raving about our new, wonderful paved parking lot, and now you have to drive down a gravel road to get to it!!!! Really, you have to laugh about it, or it will just make you cry.
HOWEVER, THERE IS A SILVER LINING……..
Currently our road on North Routledge is open and completely accessible. However, should the construction be directly in front of us, then the owner of our new complex had the forethought to make a “secret passage” so that we can all avoid the construction and get in AND out of the complex with ease. He has built a small private road, less than a half a block long that links the back of our building to the new leg of North Routledge Park coming out right behind the Mandarin Restaurant on paved road. Here are some simple instructions on how to get to us easily regardless of what direction you are approaching us from.
From the South (Oxford Street - heading north on Hyde Park Road):
After passing through the lights at the Gainsborough Road intersection, keep heading north PAST the original North Routledge Park and look for the Mandarin Restaurant on your left hand side. Turn left onto North Routledge Park just before the Mandarin and travel for one block on the paved road [picture 1] – you will see the construction as they are connecting the two legs of North Routledge into a crescent – don’t go any further!
On your left [picture 2] you will see a short gravel road marked “Private Road” [picture 3]. Turn left onto this road and you will see the back of the building we are currently in. Simply drive past the building to the front side of it, turn right and you will be at the parking spots directly in front of our store. Easy-Peasy!!!
From the North (Fanshawe Park Road – heading south on Hyde Park Road):
After passing through the lights at the Seagull Road intersection, keep heading south PAST our old location and look for the Mandarin Restaurant on your right hand side. Turn right onto North Routledge Park just after the Mandarin and travel for one block on the paved road [picture 1] – you will see the construction as they are connecting the two legs of North Routledge into a crescent – don’t go any further!
On your left [picture 2] you will see a short gravel road marked “Private Road” [picture 3]. Turn left onto this road and you will see the back of the building we are currently in. Simply drive past the building to the front side of it, turn right and you will be at the parking spots directly in front of our store. Easy-Peasy!!!

A traditional man’s waistcoat gave the creative direction for the pattern, while the colors are inspired by Edvard Munch's paintings. Also the typical traditional betls called "Beltestakk" were used as a source of inspiration for some of their patterns.
