THREE NEW PATTERNS
Monday, March 12/18 – Three new patterns
How are you adjusting to the time change? It’s amazing how just one hour can make such a difference and affect us as much as it does. But, then again, perhaps it doesn’t bother you at all?
We are almost half way through March, with Spring just around the corner – B-U-T not here quite yet – meaning there still may be a number of chilly days to come. Keep that in mind as we share with you three new pattern additions to our Dragonpine Design Line.
The three patterns are all Cowls, but each one is distinct. Each cowl is knit from just one ball of Patons Alpaca Chunky (or any chunky weight yarn) and one ball of an eyelash yarn, giving them a sophistication all their own.
The Cowls are easy to knit and knit up fairly quickly. Perhaps you will still be able to wear them this month. OR...think of how many you could knit up ahead of time to gift to family & friends who might appreciate a finished Cowl to wear for the next Fall & Winter seasons.
First up...
The “HEPBURN COWL”
A fun, easy to memorize, one-row repeat forms the ‘Criss Cross’ pattern stitch (knit flat) and the fur trimmed neckline is knit in the round and extra cozy with the yarn being held double. The fabric has a lot of give to it, so those with narrower shoulders can wear it as a caplet too!
Next we have...
The “WHISPER OF FROST COWL”
This is an ‘easy-peasy’ Cowl to knit! Knit completely in the round in garter and stockinette stitch, with no seams to sew when finished!
Then there is ...
The “WOOLLY MAMMOTH COWL”
A fun, ‘tongue in cheek’ name, this Cowl can be worn, as shown, hugging the neckline. Or it can be blocked to open up and create more drape around the neck.
Each of these Cowls were knit with just one ball of Patons Alpaca Blend and one ball of the accent yarn, Faux Fur by James C. Brett and they are available to view in the store.
FAUX FUR is a pure synthetic, two-toned, silky soft, eyelash yarn with fine, featherlike fibres that spring from a central core strand to create a fluffy, faux fur effect with a gentle sheen. Currently, we are offering this yarn in three colours. More colour choices may be available in the very near future.

Yardage: 90 mtrs / 98 yds / 100 grams
Tension: 14 sts = 4" (10 cm)
Suggested Knitting Needle: 6 mm, US 10
Fibre Content: 90% Supersoft Nylon, 30% Polyester
Care: Hand Wash, Flat Dry
Patons Alpaca Blend has the lush richness of natural wool & alpaca fibres blended with the versatility of acrylic & nylon, making the yarn both versatile with some added warmth & drape. If you love exquisite yarn without a high price tag then, Alpaca Blend is the yarn for you! Spun as a single ply roving, this yarn is wonderfully heathered with subtle undertones, giving the gorgeous appearance of a quality hand spun yarn, without the added cost.

Yardage: 142 mtrs / 155 yds / 100 grams
Tension: 15 sts = 4" (10 cm)
Suggested Knitting Needle: 6 mm, US – 10
Fibre Content: 60% Acrylic, 22% Wool, 10% Nylon, 8% Alpaca
Care: Hand Wash, Flat Dry
