Greetings everyone!
As most of you know I am a winter fan. I love the fact that this year (other than a couple of crazy melts and one really crazy thunder and lightening storm) we are experiencing a true winter. Don’t get me wrong, I love the change of seasons, but for now, I am enjoying my snow. I know that many of you don’t share my enthusiasm for this arctic environment we find ourselves in so I am going to ask; are you suffering from the “winter blahs”? If you are, don’t despair as this is a very common plight this time of year and you are not alone. In this week’s email, we are going to try and bring you out of your doldrums and invite you to pop into the store for some “cheer-you-up” fibre therapy!!!

MACHINE KNITTERS CLUB
Five 2-hour Sessions
Cost: $150 (Price Includes Demonstrations and Hand Outs)

Session 2: Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Session 3: Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Join Janet and be a part of this new Club exclusive to Machine Knitters. The Club will be offered in blocks of 5 sessions with one session being offered approximately every month. Knitters can expect to be exposed to many new stitches and techniques. Although all of them will be demonstrated on the LK150 Knitting Machine, these techniques and stitches can also be worked on any style of knitting machine.
This “get-together” for machine knitters will encourage “Show & Tell” and will be an outlet for machine knitters to share their projects, ideas, and questions.
By becoming a member, you will be entitled to attend all 5 demonstration sessions and the relevant hand-out material for each session. EVEN IF you were unable to attend one of the sessions you will still receive all of the hand-out materials!
You will be encouraged to knit a sample of the new stitch or technique shown that month, and should questions arise from the group, they will be addressed at the next session.
Here is a little “taste” of some of the exciting new stitches that Janet will be showcasing during these sessions.

NEW CLASS!
Felted Friends: FELT AN OWL
One 3-hour Session
Cost: $60 (includes materials)
Date & Time: February 17, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Come felt your very own owl! This NEW series of Needle Felting workshops by Jen will feature all of the friends you would find in your back yard: gnomes, frogs, birds, mushrooms, owls, squirrels, bunnies…oh, my! This very first Felted Friends workshop will be dedicated to Oliver the Owl.
Come learn how to make a 3D shape using raw fleece and coloured felting fibre in this ‘hands-on’ workshop. Included in the class are all the materials you require to make your very own felted owl: assorted felting needles (yours to keep & take home after class), coloured fleece for surface felting and raw fleece for the general shape, beads for the eyes, and a generously-sized felting mat (also, yours to keep & take home after class) that can be reused.
The class will cover experimenting with different gauge needles to learn what size is best for which technique, and extra materials will be available to purchase after the class if you wish to make a second Oliver at home. This class is perfect for beginner Needle Felters that have never done any kind of three-dimensional felting before. No other special skills necessary!
Rated: all skill levels (some knowledge of needle felting would be beneficial, but not required)
Pre-Requisite: none!
There is also plenty of time to join us in our Mystery Knit-A-Long. The first clue was just launched last Thursday and the second clue comes out this Thursday the 15th!
This all new 2018 Mystery Knit-A-Long is going to be fun-Fun-FUN and unique, too … unlike any of our previous KAL’s!
A very big “Thank You” goes out to all of our customers who enjoyed our past KALs so much that they made a special point of calling up and asking when the next one will take place! Well the wait is over… here it is! One of our customers enjoyed the last “not so mysterious” KAL project so much she has completed 4 of them to date! Way to go!
This MKAL will consist of a total of 10 clues, which will be sent out weekly by email, on Thursday’s, starting Feb. 8th. And, the complete printed pattern (included in the cost) will be available for pick up at the end of the KAL.
Choose from a wide variety of yarn choices & colours (in Sport or DK weight) to fit both your fibre preference & budget.
We are still taking registrations for this MKAL! So, hurry in (or call in) to sign up & receive the first clue; choose your yarn, your colour & get ready for some excitement and knit away the winter blahs!!

Our first ever Yarn Club,
Featuring Imagine Photography & London Yarns.
The yarn featured in this Club is one of our favourites! Zen Yarn Garden in Sarnia, Ontario is custom dyeing this yarn EXCLUSIVELY for London Yarns and members will receive one skein of yarn & the greeting card that inspired the yarn’s colourway approximately every other month, starting this March.
Participants will receive a total of 6 skeins; each one being a custom colourway inspired by the photography of Janet’s husband, Darrell, owner of Imagine Photography. Two yarn “bases” in fingering (4-ply) weight are being offered for this club, and members can choose between Zen’s best selling cashmere blend Serenity 20 or Superfine Fingering, their very popular Superwash Merino/Nylon blend. Both bases have sufficient yardage in one skein to complete a scarf, shawlette, or pair of adult socks.
Members will be the very first to see and work with each new custom colourway as they will receive their newly dyed skein and greeting card weeks before the new colourway is displayed in the store for sale to the general public. The greeting cards are also unique in themselves, as the photograph on the front of the card is not permanently mounted; the photo can be easily removed and framed to enjoy for years to come!
Gifting a membership to this club would also be a perfect way to give your favourite knitter “the gift that keeps on giving” all year with a new colour being launched every other month!
