‘This just in….’ – isn’t that how a reporter will start an exciting news bulletin update? At least they used to in days gone by – or perhaps am I just showing my age here?!? Anyway, we’re going to borrow that expression & use it for today’s email, as we will cover a number of brief, newsy items of interest happening in the shop. So, here we go….….’This just in’:
There is still a little time left to join in the fun of our newest MKAL…
This all new 2018 Mystery Knit-A-Long is going to be fun-Fun-FUN and unique, too … unlike any of our previous KAL’s!
A very big “Thank You” goes out to all of our customers who enjoyed our past KALs so much that they made a special point of calling up and asking when the next one will take place! Well the wait is over… here it is! One of our customers enjoyed the last “not so mysterious” KAL project so much she has completed 4 of them to date! Way to go!
This MKAL will consist of a total of 10 clues, which will be sent out weekly by email, on Thursday’s, starting Feb. 8th. And, the complete printed pattern (included in the cost) will be available for pick up at the end of the KAL.
Choose from a wide variety of yarn choices & colours (in Sport or DK weight) to fit both your fibre preference & budget.
Registration begins today and the MKAL starts February 8/18! So, hurry in (or call in) to sign up; choose your yarn, your colour & get ready for some excitement and knit away the winter blahs!!
Effective February, we have had a slight adjustment to our Store Hours. On Wednesdays, the store will now be closing at 8:00 pm (instead of 9pm).

NEW GREETING CARDS…
Darrell, from Imagine Photography, has been busy again creatively staging some really cute & some very pretty ‘Yarn’ themed greeting cards - a dozen in all!! The Greeting Cards are blank inside, making them suitable for many occasions; envelope is included & both are neatly packaged in clear cellophane wrapping. The photograph on the front of the card is removable, so it can be framed & enjoyed for years to come.

Fridays: February 16, March 2 & 16 between the hours of 10 am – 12 pm
Saturdays: February 10 & 24, March 10 & 24 between the hours of 3:30 pm – 5 pm
‘Mentoring”’ ... Not just for UFO’s anymore!! Now you can take a Mentoring Session (or two or three) to expand your knitting skills. If there has every been a class that we’ve offered, but didn’t work with your schedule, or one of our original Dragonpine Design Patterns that has caught your eye, but you didn’t know if you could manage it on your own ... now is the time to take advantage of our Mentoring & Skill Building Sessions! We highly encourage you to start something new, take on a new project and expand your knitting skills while under the helpful guidance of our experienced & patient teachers – Janet & Cathy.
Other scenarios that may apply to these Mentoring Sessions:
• Maybe you have a project that has been squirreled away for quite some time that you became stuck on and just need a hand picking it back up and carrying on with it.
• Maybe you just need a single session to get past a stumbling block that you have encountered in your current project.
• Maybe you would like to tackle a project that is a little intimidating and would like some coaching as you work through it.
If any of these scenarios apply to you, then these mentoring sessions are just for you!
The beauty of these sessions is that YOU CHOOSE which dates you would like to come, either the Wednesday dates or the Friday dates or you can mix and match. YOU DO NOT NEED TO COME TO EVERY SESSION OFFERED. Simply come to the ones you need to! All we ask is that you call the store to register to let us know when you will be coming. The only pre-requisite is that we need a working copy of your pattern BEFORE the session so we may familiarize ourselves with what you are tackling. Simply bring the pattern into the store and we will make a working copy for both of us.

OOPS! I MADE A MISTAKE – For Beginners

THIS CLASS IS PERFECT FOR ALL BEGINNER KNITTERS
Lately we have had loads of requests to do a workshop on fixing mistakes. Well here it is! This hands-on class will not only teach you how to deal with all kinds of “knitting disasters” like dropped and twisted stitches and un-picking one or many rows, but will also deal with things like; “how do I know what row of my pattern I’m on” and “Oh-No! All of the stitches fell off of my needle! What do I do? And “Oh-No! The phone rang, I set down my knitting and now I don’t know how to start up again! So often customers tell us that they unravelled all of their knitting and started over simply because they didn’t have the skills to fix their mistake; Oh My! Never again after this workshop! Simply put, all beginner knitters can benefit from taking this class.

Join our 2018 Bi-Monthly Yarn Club, while there is still time!
Our first ever Yarn Club!
Featuring Imagine Photography & London Yarns.
The yarn featured in this Club is one of our favourites! Zen Yarn Garden in Sarnia, Ontario is custom dyeing this yarn EXCLUSIVELY for London Yarns and members will receive one skein of yarn & the greeting card that inspired the yarn’s colourway approximately every other month, starting this March.
Participants will receive a total of 6 skeins; each one being a custom colourway inspired by the photography of Janet’s husband, Darrell, owner of Imagine Photography. Two yarn “bases” in fingering (4-ply) weight are being offered for this club, and members can choose between Zen’s best selling cashmere blend Serenity 20 or Superfine Fingering, their very popular Superwash Merino/Nylon blend. Both bases have sufficient yardage in one skein to complete a scarf, shawlette, or pair of adult socks.
Members will be the very first to see and work with each new custom colourway as they will receive their newly dyed skein and greeting card weeks before the new colourway is displayed in the store for sale to the general public. The greeting cards are also unique in themselves, as the photograph on the front of the card is not permanently mounted; the photo can be easily removed and framed to enjoy for years to come!
Gifting a membership to this club would also be a perfect way to give your favourite knitter “the gift that keeps on giving” all year with a new colour being launched every other month!
DON’T DELAY!!! There is a limited sign up window for this elite Yarn Club!! Registration continues until close of business on Wednesday, February 14th.
