THIS IS SO EXCITING!

Monday, November 27, 2017 – This is SO exciting!

As a special treat...we get to hear from Janet today!

This week, I am literally “bursting with pride” as I share this week’s email with you. As many of you know, my husband Darrell is a photographer and has been taking photos professionally for over 35 years. His specialty is photographing babies and their families, but he also has a passion for taking shots of nature; birds, wildlife, fauna and flora. His nature photography is his hobby, so to speak, and I have been after him for quite some time now to share these images.

I am very excited to announce a joint effort that involves Darrell’s photos, London Yarns, and Zen Yarn Garden! Recently, I approached Neville at Zen Yarn Garden in Sarnia to see if he would be interested in dyeing yarn with the inspiration being one of Darrell’s photos. We provided him with Darrell’s photograph “Bleeding Hearts” and take a look at the magic that happened in the dyeing studio.

Here is the yarn dyed on Zen Yarn Garden’s Serenity 20 (a Merino Wool, Cashmere, Nylon Blend) Fingering Weight Base:

Today, we travelled to Sarnia to pick up our newest colourway - “Fishing Season is Over” on other bases – including Superfine Fingering, Superfine Glitter, and Serenity Silk +. Here it is, and can you say yummy-yumma?!!!!

Both of these “custom colourways” are ONLY available through London Yarns!

Zen Yarn Garden gives exclusivity to Darrell’s photo-inspired colourways and dyes them only for us here at the store! Be sure to pop into the store right away to see the yarn in person and treat yourself to a skein or two of “Fishing Season is Over” and place your orders for the “Bleeding Hearts” colourway on your choice of base – available very soon!

We were so thrilled with the first custom colourway that more are on the way! Check out these photos that are the next in line to the dye bath!

While you are in the store checking out “Bleeding Hearts” and “Fishing Season is Over”, view these photos in person and let us know which photograph is your favourite . Maybe it will be the next one to hit the dye pot!

To add to the excitement, these photographs and many more are also available as greeting cards! Darrell has created a line of greeting cards under his company name, “Imagine Photography” and I am thrilled, of course, to carry them in the store. These greeting cards are unique because the photo on the card can be enjoyed for years to come. Darrell has mounted the photo in such a way that it can be removed from the front of the card and framed or displayed by the recipient!

Keep a very close eye on upcoming emails, as we will be launching a “Yarn-of-the-Month Club” starting in 2018 featuring these custom colourways inspired by Darrell’s photographs. Full details will be available shortly.

Last, but certainly not least...

A very BIG thank you goes out to all of you who were SO generous last Friday & Saturday during our Purple Friday/Small Business Saturday Event. We were thrilled at the number of donations we collected for Women’s Community House (ANOVA).

Their Executive Director, Kate, will be collecting the donations early this week and was thrilled at the outpouring of support our customers have shown. We collected everything from juice boxes and toilet paper to brand new winter hats and coats and everything in-between!
