NEW, NEW, NEW!

Monday, November 13/17 new, New, NEW!

It’s definitely that time of year again, where every week brings something new & exciting!!  Today, we have two new ‘Dragonpine Designs’ Patterns, new stock, a new workshop a-n-d an awesome new Knit-Along to share with you.

And, so, without further ado, here is this weeks email:

NEW PATTERN...

Attention Machine Knitters!!  Janet & Judy have put their creative minds together to bring you a new Dragonpine Design for Machine Knitters – Wine Bottle Cozies, knit on the LK150 Knitting Machine, with the option to Felt or Not!  Not only are these Cozies pretty & decorative, but they are also practical – they give added protection to glass bottles, and have insulating properties!  Here’s Janet to elaborate more about their pattern design:

“It’s the perfect time of year to knit up some great little hostess gifts on your LK150 knitting machine.  These cute little cozies - felted or not, make the perfect reusable covers for your favourite bottled beverages.  These cozies are fast, easy & fun to make and once your first one is complete, the sky is the limit for future design possibilities and colour options.” - Janet

The Pattern Booklet is available for purchase on its own, or if you prefer ‘a helping hand’ in tackling this project, we are offering it as a workshop as well.  Details are found later in this email.

NEW PATTERN...

Perhaps you have admired this scarf in the store???  Well, Judy has worked hard to bring you this printed pattern so that you may make your very own Mosaic Scarf on the LK150 Knitting Machine!  The Mosaic patterning is created using a slip stitch method in two contrasting colours.  Each Mosaic pattern borders the body of the scarf, which is done in a double thickness stocking stitch.  The pattern offers instructions for optional Fringe or Tassels to put the finishing touches on your scarf.

Knit with Fingering Weight Yarn, in 2 contrasting colours on the LK150, this Scarf is folded and seamed into a double-thickness fabric for extra snuggy warmth.  Finished size is 8” wide x 60” long, excluding fringe, but could easily be adapted to add extra width to wear as a shawl.

NEW KAL...

We are running another awesome, but ‘Not-So-Mysterious’ KNIT-ALONG!  Will you join us???  Here is Janet to explain more:

“Just in time for Christmas, join us for this ‘not-so-mysterious’ knit-a-long!  This time around, we are going to let you know that the finished project is a triangular scarf/shawl – but that’s ALL we are going to say.  This KAL is suitable for all knitters, including beginners through to advanced.  Choose from more than 9 different yarn brands featuring hundreds of colour choices.  There is sure to be a yarn option to suit all budgets as well as all fibre preferences.  This project lends itself nicely to solids, heathers, tweeds, variegated and slow colour changing yarns.  The project itself will work up quickly, making it easy to complete before the holidays as ALL clues will be provided to you at the time you register.  Clues will be emailed (unless otherwise requested) in one package so you can feel free to work at your own pace, progressing as quickly as you choose.  The KAL can also be kitted-up to make an awesome gift for one of your knitting friends; simply choose the yarn, add a shawl stick or shawl pin, needles, and we will provide you with an envelope containing all of the “secret” clues/instructions for them to knit happily away!” – Janet

We are offering a wide variety of 12 different yarn choices to suit all budgets & fibre preferences, in a extensive array of colour choices.

(Project costs range from $6.98 - $27.98 and registration fee is just $3.00 to join our KAL.)

The KAL Pattern requires a 6mm x 60cm circular knitting needle – Why not treat yourself to a new style of fixed or interchangeable needle (eg. Addi, LYKKE, Kollage, etc.) and see for yourself what a difference a needle can make!

Registration for the KAL begins today, but you can join at any time – just remember, the sooner you sign up, the sooner you can get knitting!  Come in or call in to register, select your yarn & receive your clues.  Clues will be available to be sent out as of Friday, November 17/17.

As a reminder, here is a brief summary of some of the benefits of LYKKE needles:

The ‘Driftwood’ needles are made from solid birch wood (no composite or laminate wood!), sourced from the USA and are produced in India by former makers of high quality paint brushes. They are resin infused to give them their unique appearance, but also to harden the wood. We found the appearance to have a unique patina and in our brain storming of a neat name for these needles, we felt ‘Driftwood’ was the most appropriate. – Lykke Needles
  • LYKKE needles are strong, silky smooth and light
  • made from solid birch—no composite or laminate wood
  • the solid birch needles are resin infused to give them their unique appearance, but also to harden the wood – allows for tip integrity (no fraying or splintering)
  • the striking grey finish does not compete with the colour of your yarn, but instead provides a neutral backdrop against which the colour and texture and beauty of whatever you are working with is enhanced!
  • LYKKE IC Tips & straight needles have both US and metric sizes etched on the black end caps of the needles to ensure long-term readability
  • LYKKE double pointed needles have beautiful, smooth-as-silk black metal inlay with engraved size markings in both US and metric sizes
  • the beautiful grayish finish varies with the wood grain, yet the pairs match up
  • LIFETIME WARRANTY – The manufacturer's lifetime guarantee against defects gives you the peace of mind that you have invested in tools built to last
  • needle tips have just the right sharpness – not too pointy, not too blunt with a short taper that puts your hands closer to the action
  • the ‘Driftwood’ patina has a warm, silvery, elegant appearance – aesthetically stunning!
  • the needle-to-cord joins on both the fixed circulars and the interchangeable sets are impeccably smooth which means knitting is near effortless
  • black cables are likewise smooth and flexible.
  • the needle sets are highly customizable – tips & cords are sold individually or in sets across a wide range of standard sizes
  • each set is packed in your choice of a beautiful, high quality grey faux denim or black faux leather case
  • Lyyke needles are made from solid birch wood that is sourced from the USA and manufactured in India
  • great-looking, hard-working and impeccably detailed – what more could you ask for?!?
