CABLES! CABLES! CABLED SCARF
Two 1.5-hour Sessions

Cable Stitch is probably the most recognized pattern in knitting. Even non-knitters seem to know what a “cable” is. What most knitters don’t realize about creating cables is the fact that cabling is very easy to do and yet looks like you have really fussed! Students will create a beautiful Triple-Cable Scarf in class mastering 3 different types of cable stitch. Both beginner and experience knitters will enjoy learning these techniques and once you understand the basic principles, ANY cable stitch will be a breeze for you to knit.

BLOCKING YOUR KNITS – “SPECIAL EDITION”
One 2-hour Session

Date & Time: Saturday, October 28/17 from 10 am – 12 pm

This “SPECIAL EDITION” Blocking Class will be focusing specifically on blocking the Maple Leaf Knit Shawl. B-U-T it will still cover the same information as our regular Blocking Class – so ALL are welcome regardless of whether you have knit this shawl or not. And if you have knit it, hopefully yours is completed (or nearly finished) - just in time to learn how to put the finishing touches on your Shawl by means of the blocking process.
Blocking is an essential part of finishing a project – as you can tell from the above photos. See a project in action (aka – the Maple Leaf Shawl) as well as learn to block swatches, textured fabric, and to deal with various fibres and blends. If you have never blocked your knits, come see what a difference it makes!

What’s old is new again!! Join us and knit an ‘old favourite’ that everyone loves! Create your own unique Sock Monkey - choose from traditional colours or liven up your Sock Monkey by choosing some bright & funky colours. Techniques learned in class will include cable cast on, joining & knitting in the round on double pointed needles, garter stitch, knit front & back increases, make one increases, changing colours with a jogless stripe, magic cast on, an SSK decrease and it’s mirroring decrease of K2tog, grafting (kitchener stitch), securely attaching pieces to the body, methods of stuffing and Satin Stitch embroidery for the eyes & nose (or if preferred, you can use safety eyes). This ‘Cheeky Monkey’ Class has everything you need to know about knitting, all in one cuddly little project, and a friend to keep at the end!
