Here is a special treat, just for you - Janet has personally composed the content of today’s email! And, so, ‘without further ado’…..here’s Janet:
This July 1st, as I am sure you all know, Canada celebrates its 150th Birthday. The Maple Leaf has been used as Canada’s emblem since the 18th Century. What better way to celebrate our country’s milestone than to honour it with a knit heirloom. We can’t wait to share this new project with you!! 
Please take a peek at these photos of this B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L piece of lace knitting. It is simply stunning and oh-so-appropriate for this year, 2017.

As our ongoing Mystery Knit-a-Long is currently winding down and coming to completion, we have decided to offer and launch this new project as a “Knit-a-Long” of sorts, but certainly not a mystery! Let’s all unite and create this one-of-a-kind piece of breathtaking knitted art. The instructions are well written, every other row is a nice break as all wrong side rows are purled, and the only skills you need in your knitting repertoire are:
Knitting, Purling, Counting, Yarn Over, Decreasing by Knitting 2 Together or SSK,
and every once in a while, a “Pass Slipped Stitch Over” thrown in!
Please do not be intimidated by this project. It is well suited to all knitters, and of course, we will be right here to help you out along the way.
We are taking pre-orders and preparing kits for this project. Some of the yarn choices are beautiful, hand dyed varieties, look at just some of these Zen Yarn Garden colourways:
This is just a very small sampling of the MANY different colourways available to you.
Or, you could knit your Maple Leaf “au Naturale”, as Janice did and dye it upon completion.

I can hardly wait to start knitting my Maple Leaf! As I am not much of a shawl-wearer (these hot flashes are brutal – ha ha!), I am going to mount my Maple Leaf upon completion in all its glory and hang it on the wall for all to admire, myself included!
Don’t delay! Please come into the store as soon as possible to pre-order your kit! This will allow us time to get the yarn hand dyed if need be as well as gather together your choices of all of the other goodies! We hope to start knitting later this month and we will be offering “helping hand” mentoring dates in our workshop room for those of you who would like a little guidance.
