Exciting news from Janet!
Hello everyone! The celebration continues..…. London Yarns just recently launched our “Fibre Artist’s Bingo” and now I am thrilled to cordially invite each and every one of you to the 25th Anniversary of our Annual Customer Appreciation Day!
The most exciting news is, that my Mom Katy Lu is going to be a part of this year’s event! On Saturday, December 3rd, Katy Lu is going to be at the store from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm to help us celebrate. Many of you will remember Katy Lu from her many years of working at the store. Many of you will know her for her famous sock pattern “Katy Lu’s Socks” that is still our “go-to” pattern for sock knitting workshops here at the store. Even if you have never met my Mom, I know that most of you know her indirectly from all of the credit I have given my “knitter extraordinaire Mom” through the techniques that she developed that I still teach to this day, both in hand and machine knitting. Many of the samples that I show during the classes are Katy Lu’s handiwork. Please come by if you can during this 2-hour window and say “hi” to my teacher, my mentor, my special lady, my Mom.
Every year since my Mom, Katy Lu and I became the owners of London Yarns in 1991 we have hosted a “Customer Appreciation Day” in early December. Things have changed a bit over the years. I remember for the first few years my invitations we generated on my trusty old “typewriter” (white out and all)! As the years passed, my typewriter was replaced by Patti-Ann’s computer expertise and we generated our invitation and newsletter in print. Everyone working at the store gathered together for a couple of days as each copy was collated, folded, placed in an envelope, sealed, stamped and addressed to all of our customers. Now, the convenience of email allows us to stay in touch with all of you on a regular weekly basis and as all of you know, Patti-Ann’s computer expertise is still in full swing! I look forward to every Monday email just as much as the rest of you!!!
We would not be celebrating 25 years in business without all of you, our loyal customers, and I cannot thank you all enough for your ongoing support especially during these past 2 years of crazy road construction. Thank goodness that is over!
We also are celebrating the fabulous people that work with me here at the store. I truly look forward to coming to work each day and working with all of them: Cathy, Jen, Judy, Louise, Patti-Ann, Sherry, & Terry. You are all the best and I consider you all gems!
