How are you adjusting to the time change? Does is affect you or perhaps you don’t notice it?
Today, we have waaaaaaaaay to many new & interesting things to share and not enough time or space to do it in just one email! So, in the interest of brevity, we will pass along to you details & highlights of some of our new stock & briefly mention others, with just a few particulars.
And here we go …
New Sock Yarns!
Have you noticed that so many sock yarn companies produce wonderful colourways that are a one-time-only production, then onto the next ‘colour pack’? Have you fell in love with a sock yarn only to find out that exact yarn and/or colour is not being repeated? Well … we are happy to let you know that these next Sock Yarns are a ‘constant’ and the colourways are recurring!
FOOTSIE – A durable yet soft, versatile sock yarn that comes in both solid and variegated colourways. One ball makes a pair of adult-size socks. also great making baby garments, shawls, scarves, mitts, hats, etc.
TIP TOE – a single-ply, long colour changing yarn with a soft halo. Would make glorious shawls, fingerless mitts, scarves, oh! and yes, of course, socks! An excellent & economical substitute for Zauberball. Spun in Italy for Diamond Yarn, a Canadian company.
DAS PAAR by Schoppel Wolle – “matched” sock yarn
Do you love knitting patterned socks, but hate when they don't match? Meet Das Paar!
Translated from German, it actually means "the pair". Das Paar takes all the effort out of sock matching; each 100g skein consists of two 50g skeins wound separately from the same starting point so that both of your socks will match exactly. A beautiful, multi-color, "fair isle effect" yarn that works up into lovely matched socks!
SOXY LADY – a single-ply, Verigated yarn with a slight halo. The 20% alpaca content in this yarn creates a softness that brings it to the next level (as well as, some added warmth) You could make fabulous shawls, scarves, fingerless mitts, socks, etc.!
Here are just 3 pattern ideas for use with any of the above fingering weight yarns (or any “sock” yarn)
This wrap is not only a very quick knit (worked with less than a 100 g / 400 mtrs ball of sock yarn), the asymmetrical increases and the lace border also open a wide range of possibilities for spectacular gradient looks. The repetitive arches and diamonds go well together, with the arches providing a perfect transition from the stockinette body to the lace border.

LLAMOR by Hikoo – In Spanish, amor means love, and since we immediately fell in love with this 100% Baby Llama yarn (and we are sure you will too!!), Llamor was the perfect choice for a name! Made in Peru, the fiber is de-haired leaving only the ultra-soft undercoat to be spun into this striking yarn. Lightweight, soft, and springy, this yarn will work up beautifully in dk-worsted weight gauges to create extraordinary sweaters, accessories, and elegant warm-winter items.
