HOLIDAY MONDAY EMAIL

Monday, May 23, 2016 – Holiday Monday Email

Surprise!! We are sending out an email on this Holiday Monday! We hope your weekend is going well so far and realise that most of you will be busy today, so this email will be brief. J

As you probably already know...the store is closed today, but will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, May 24 at 9:30 am.

Janet is teaching her Finishing Touches Class on Saturday and there is still space available if you would like to come. Please come in or call in at 519-474-0403 to register in advance.

FINISHING TOUCHES – THE THIRD CLASS IN THE FINISHING SERIES
One 2.5-hour Session
Cost:  $40 (Includes Yarn)
Date & Time:  Saturday, May 28/16 from 10 am – 12:30 pm
Teacher:  Janet
This particular finishing workshop dives into the world of grafting and graduating!  Grafting open stitches together (properly called Kitchener Stitch) is a technique that eludes many knitters.  We will simplify this basic knitting technique and have you grafting up a storm!  Once 2 sets of live stitches have been joined using this method, you cannot even see where the grafting happened.  The join is virtually invisible.
Graduating shoulders is something that has plagued knitters for eons!  We will knit a sample of a back and 2 fronts, shaping the shoulders to better fit the body and then join those shoulders using a 3 Needle Bind Off.  Even though the shoulders are shaped, all of the stitches remain live to beautifully seam them by knitting them together when the fronts and back are complete.  Jagged edges that are hard to sew together will become a thing of the past!  Students will benefit from learning partial knitting techniques including short rows and wrapped and turned stitches.
Rated:  All Knitters
Pre-Requisite:  Knowledge of Knit & Purl Stitches

ATTENTION MACHINE KNITTERS!!

Janet has been on a designing spree! She has been working diligently creating some amazing new patterns, new techniques, as well as brand new, exciting classes coming your way, starting in June. Watch your inboxes for the latest details & updates.

Please enjoy the rest of your day.
